So Johnny Depp posted his first TikTok today!

In his TikTok post he talked about moving forward after the trial, which is awesome… yes let’s move forward!

Well, one of Amber Heard’s spokespersons decided to respond to that statement… like we really need to hear any more from her.

As Johnny Depp says he’s ‘moving forward,’ women’s rights are moving backward. The verdict’s message to victims of domestic violence is … be afraid to stand up and speak out.

A spokesperson for Amber Heard said in a statement

I thought the point was that we as women wanted equal rights?

So how is this a setback for women, women lie and make false accusations, and men are the ones that are afraid to speak up when they themselves are the victims of abuse.

In my opinion, this is a step forward for all genders when it comes to equal treatment.

Men can look at this and realize they don’t have to take it anymore, and women who lie about such things may think twice now.

The #MeToo movement should be for all genders, anyone can be a victim of abuse, whether it’s mental, physical, or even sexual abuse.

Let’s stop with the double standards already and treat each other equally on all spectrums.

Amber Heard still plans to appeal the verdict, but I really think she needs to accept the loss and move forward.

I’m even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously.
