Somebody looked at the Chia Pet and decided it needed a wildlife documentary crossover. And you know what? I see the vision.

On Thursday, October 15, Chia Pet is introducing the Wild Revival Collection in collaboration with Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom. It’s five collectible animal-shaped planters that grow the familiar green Chia “fur,” and the lineup is honestly kind of adorable.

Meet the five new wildlife Chia Pets

The limited-edition collection includes a sea otter, sea turtle, red panda, bald eagle and bison. Yes, a bison Chia Pet. This is the exact sort of delightfully unnecessary thing that makes holiday gift shopping more fun.

Each design is tied to a conservation story about the real animal. The partnership is also intended to raise awareness of wildlife recovery efforts, including species that have benefited from long-running conservation work.

There’s a conservation connection, too

According to the announcement, Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom will donate a portion of proceeds from the collection to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), supporting its Saving Animals From Extinction (SAFE) program. The announcement doesn’t specify a percentage or dollar amount, so don’t read that as a claim that all proceeds go to conservation.

Where to get the Wild Revival Chia Pets

The collection launches October 15, 2026, at Chia.com, with each Chia Pet listed at $29.99, according to the advance announcement. Amazon and select AZA-accredited locations across the United States are expected to carry the collection afterward; availability and timing may vary.

I’m particularly interested in seeing what the red panda looks like once the greenery grows in. The sea otter is going to have some stiff competition.
