This DJ Is Mixing Throwback R&B in a Kitchen, and I’m Into It

This guy is spinning R&B in a kitchen, with a DJ controller on the counter and the appliances just hanging out in the background. I need you to see this.

The creator is DJ RMANI, who posts as @DJRMANIII on YouTube. If you spotted that handle on a video and went looking for the kitchen DJ, here you go.

The kitchen is what got me

There is something very funny about a DJ setup sharing space with the stuff you use to make dinner. The cabinets, the stove, the countertop appliances. All of it makes the whole thing feel like somebody decided the kitchen was getting a much better job tonight.

And honestly, I’m into it. A kitchen already tends to be the place people end up hanging out. Put a DJ controller there and suddenly the counter makes a pretty convincing booth.

Start with his 2000s R&B mix

His 2000s R&B throwback set runs just under 16 minutes. The creator’s track list opens with T-Pain’s “I’m Sprung,” then moves into Mario’s “Let Me Love You” and Ne-Yo’s “Sexy Love.”

That is a very specific era of music packed into a short set. If those names immediately made you want to turn the volume up, this is an easy place to start.

There’s a ’90s version, too

If your first thought was that you need to go back another decade, his ’90s R&B mix is about 13 minutes long. Its posted track list starts with Soul for Real’s “Candy Rain” and includes Groove Theory, Next, Mary J. Blige and Tevin Campbell.

The kitchen setup is right there in this one, too. You can see the controller on the island, a laptop beside it and the microwave behind him. The overhead view practically puts you at the counter.

Where to find DJ RMANI

You can find more sets on his YouTube video page and follow @djrmaniii on Instagram, which he links from his own uploads.

These two mixes are from 2025, so this is a good find to save, rather than a new release you have to catch today. Pick your decade, press play and give the kitchen a little credit. Apparently, it has range.
