Okay, Gleeks. This is not just another “wouldn’t it be nice?” reunion conversation.
A new season of Glee is coming to Disney+ and Hulu. Disney announced the return on October 21, 2026, according to ABC News. The report names 20th Television, the studio behind the original series, as the studio behind the new season.
That is the exciting part. The part to keep separate? A confirmed return for the show is not a confirmed return for every familiar face.
When does the new Glee season come out?
There is no announced premiere date yet. Disney+ and Hulu are the announced destinations, but there is not a date to put on the calendar.
Is the original cast coming back?
No cast has been announced. ABC News reports that Ryan Murphy said in September that a script had been written and he had been speaking with cast members about returning. Conversations are not casting announcements, so we are not treating any original actor as confirmed for the new season.
That distinction matters when an old cast photo starts making the rounds alongside the news. The archival image accompanying this story shows members of the original cast in 2009, not an announced lineup for the new season.
Where can you watch the original Glee?
If this has you wanting to start from the beginning, Hulu currently lists all six original seasons and 121 episodes. That is the existing series, not the new season arriving early.
And yes, our excitement has receipts: Jamie wrote about loving Glee back in 2009. That original post is still there if you want a little time capsule from the show’s first year.
For now, the useful takeaway is simple: new season confirmed, streaming homes named, release date and cast still to come. Plenty to get excited about without inventing the rest.
