Nestlé Is Flying Baby Formula In From Other Countries To Help With The U.S. Shortage
As a mother that did breastfeed all of her children, I am TIRED of seeing people tell people “Just breastfeed and quit worrying”.
Well, it isn’t quite that simple!
For one, not every mother is able to produce enough breastmilk, others are unable to produce at all.
Also, please consider that some babies are adopted, or being raised by a single father… what do you suggest they do?
There are also illnesses and medications that mothers face that could make breastfeeding not the safest choice at that time.
So, can we set that argument aside and agree that there is a need for baby formula, whether you use it or not… it’s needed.
This baby formula shortage is seriously an issue and babies are suffering, especially those with allergies.
Thankfully, Nestlé is bringing formula to the United States by airfreight to help with the shortage and hopefully make things a bit easier on the parents affected by the shortages.
Nestlé will be expediting the shipping of the baby formula that is produced in other countries to the United States.
This will include Alfamino from Switzerland, and Gerber Good Start Extensive HA from the Netherlands.
We moved shipments up and rushed via air to help fill immediate needs.
Nestlé said in the statement
They chose these formulas because they serve a “critical medical purpose” for babies that are allergic to the proteins found in cow’s milk.
Nestlé has also stated that it has its formula factories running at capacity and have accelerated formula to hospitals, online sellers, as well as local retailers to help remedy this.
