PBS is cancelling ‘Caillou’ and I feel like I just heard a collective sigh from parents across North America!

It’s been a long time since I had little ones, but this little whiney brat kid was on television when even my oldest daughter was little.

I don’t think I have ever met a parent that enjoyed the show. In fact, I think we were all pretty much about ‘Blues Clues’.

PBS Kids shared the news today on social media and the majority of people were thankful. Although there are a few out there that said they will miss ‘Caillou’.

We’re saying farewell to Caillou, but remember, when we say goodbye to something, it just means we get to say hello to something new!

Now that I have a grandson, I am overjoyed that his mother (my oldest daughter) won’t have to be put through the torture that I was.

I guess children that are fans of the show may have a hard time dealing with this. But, the network did provide a link that has tips to help them with their feelings about it.

I’m sure there is a way you can still let them watch it if you choose to do so.

So it’s “Goodbye” to ‘Caillou’ and all the parents said “YAY, let it be, let it be!”

  1. We absolutely loved Caillou. WAtched it 12 years ago and back then he wasn’t a whiny kid like this post is portraying. There were good life lessons and it taught children that disappointments happen but that one has to deal with it and get on with life. All the parents I knew back then absolutely loved it and so did the children.
