Pillsbury has solved that very specific problem with two new bags of freezer-to-oven croissants, and both of them sound dangerously easy.
What are Pillsbury Grands! Croissants?
Pillsbury Grands! Croissants are large, frozen croissants that arrive already shaped and ready to bake. You do not need to thaw, proof, roll, or shape the dough first.
Each bag contains eight individually frozen croissants, so you can bake one when you want a warm pastry or make the entire bag at once.
What flavors are available?
The new lineup includes two flavors:
- Butter Grands! Croissants: Made with real butter for a classic croissant flavor.
- Chocolate Grands! Croissants: Made with real Belgian cocoa for a sweeter pastry.
Pillsbury says each croissant has 48 flaky layers. We have not baked these ourselves yet, so that layer count comes directly from the product information supplied by the brand.
Do Pillsbury frozen croissants need to thaw?
No. The croissants are designed to go from the freezer directly into the oven. Follow the baking time and temperature printed on the bag, since appliances and package directions can change.
Where can you buy Pillsbury Grands! Croissants?
Both varieties began rolling out nationwide on August 23. Pillsbury describes the croissants as a permanent addition to its lineup, not a limited-time seasonal product.
