17-Year Cicadas Are Going To Invade The East Coast And Now I’m Moving
Burn it down. Burn it ALL down.

There are some cicadas — you know, those buzzing, ugly insects — that have a 17-year lifespan, and this happens to be the year that they are going to emerge. *Shudder*

They are specifically going to invade the East Coast this summer and now I’m moving back to the West Coast!

These types of cicadas live beneath forest floors for years and years, gaining sustenance from tree roots. Then, as if conjured by some invisible force, the insects crawl out of the ground in huge numbers to perch on tree trunks and limbs in the spring, where they transition to the last stage of their life cycle

That’s when they emerge, and decide to crawl out of their loose carcas casings, and you find little cicada shells everywhere.
Nope. My skin is crawling, and I’m itching just thinking about it!

If you are one of the lucky ones in North Carolina, Virgina, or West Virginia, you are expected to be hit the hardest by these nasty big ol’ bugs.
