This just keeps getting crazier and crazier!!

So, I just told you all about what is happening with GameStop Stock but now, Robinhood – the user-friendly stock trading app is in some hot water.

So, I logged into my Robinhood app to see if I could get in on this GameStop stock craze and I was greeted with this message:

“This stock is not supported on Robinhood”.

But wait, what if you already own GameStop stock through Robinhood? Well, that’s the issue – they’ve restricted GameStop stocks and it is not okay!!

So, that is when people decided to file a class-action lawsuit against Robinhood.

But that’s not all – Rep. Ocasio-Cortez called for a House Financial Services Committee hearing on the app’s decision to halt trading of GameStop stock and Elon Musk tweeted his approval.

The class action lawsuit was filed in New York Thursday, alleging that Robinhood “deprived their customers of the ability to use their service,” in an effort “to manipulate the market for the benefit of people and financial intuitions.”

The lawsuit comes hours after Robinhood informed users that it would restrict a handful of stocks, including GameStop, Blackberry, AMC, and American Airlines, due to “recent volatility.”

And it’s true, why is it that we can’t buy or trade stocks but Hedge Funds can? Not cool at all.

It’s good to know that even Billionaires like Elon Musk are on our side and it’s just one more reason I love him!!

By now you’ve likely heard about Gamestop and the craziness involving their stocks, right?

If you haven’t, sit down because this is quite crazy and confusing ha!

So, here is what I understand happened…

So, the Hedge Funds (the investors) decided that companies like GameStop were dead and decided to short the stock and place a bet against GameStop.

Basically, the were rooting for GameStop to go bankrupt.

Well, origdanary, every day investors (like you and I) decided to fight back and say that wasn’t cool.

A Subreddit on Reddit decided to come together to buy the stocks while they were low in order to make the Hedge Funds lose their bets (and ultimately millions of dollars).

Then once the stocks began to rise again, people sold off their stocks for massive profits.

It has been insane and it has drawn so much attention, this group of reddit users are doing it again with other stocks.

In fact, on my Robinhood app, you cannot even buy GameStop stocks anymore. It is crazy!!

And for those of us (like myself) that have a hard time getting all of this, this is a really good and dumbed down version of what is happening ha!

Why is it that every time I hear the word robot, I instantly think of iRobot with Will Smith? Ha!

I swear, I feel like one day robots are going to take over the world!

But for now, they will just be taking over Walmart warehouses because Walmart made the announcement today they are building robots to keep up with online orders.

It is no surprise that since the beginning of the pandemic, people are utilizing online ordering including grocery pickup more than ever.

That is exactly why Walmart says they are working on creating robots so orders can be fulfilled faster.

 Walmart says that it plans to build warehouses at its stores where self-driving robots will fetch groceries and have them ready for shoppers to pick up in an hour or less.

Walmart did not say how many of the warehouses it will build, but construction has started at stores in Lewisville, Texas; Plano, Texas; American Fork, Utah; and Bentonville, Arkansas, where Walmart’s corporate offices are based.

A test site was opened more than a year ago at a store in Salem, New Hampshire.

Now if you are excited thinking you’ll run into a robot while shopping at Walmart, sadly that won’t happen.

Walmart said the robots won’t roam store aisles.

Instead, they’ll stay inside warehouses built in separate areas, either within a store or next to it. Windows will be placed at some locations so shoppers can watch the robots work.

Now that Biden is President, many are wondering if we will see another stimulus check and so far, it seems promising.

In fact, we could see $1,400 Stimulus Payments Pass As Early As This Week!

Here’s what we know so far…

According to reports, Congress is trying to speed this process along to get money in American’s hands as soon as possible.

The next batch of stimulus checks would be for $1,400 — to top off the $600 payments that started going out in late December.

This new stimulus check is part of President Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID rescue package. He says the recent $600 payments were “simply not enough.”

“You just have to choose between paying rent and putting food on the table,” Biden said in a speech outlining his proposal.

Democrats and former President Donald Trump had wanted to provide $2,000 in that round but were unable to since Republicans shot down the idea and also lead the Senate at that time.

Since there is currently a new Senate, with Biden’s Democratic party in control, it could make it easier for the new checks to pass.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi says the U.S. House is fast-tracking Biden’s plan, with House committees expected to vote on it by the end of the week.

She says it will be “completely ready” for the full House to pass next week, Pelosi says.

So, if all goes well and Congress does pass this, you could expect to receive your next stimulus payment by late February. But if there are any snags — and those are possible, too — you might have to wait until March or even April.
