Colorado Springs has a bar crawl where the dress code is a banana, a cat, or a banana cat. Honestly, that is a pretty solid reason to leave the house.

The Banana Cat Bar Crawl is happening Sunday, October 11, 2026, in downtown Colorado Springs. Tickets are listed at $5, with $10 drink specials for guests wearing the event wristband.

It is inspired by Cymon Padilla’s Bananacat mural, the enormous pink cat covered in bananas on the south wall of The Perk at 14 S. Tejon Street. A very specific piece of downtown art deserves a very specific costume party.

Here’s the afternoon plan

Check-in runs from 1:50 to 2:30 p.m. at the Bananacat mural on Tejon Street between Colorado and Pikes Peak avenues. Ticketed guests collect their wristbands there, so do not skip that stop.

The main crawl runs 2 to 5 p.m. The organizer’s detailed event page lists Counterfeit Cowboy, Colorado Craft Social and Icons as the crawl stops. You can start at any of those bars and visit them in whichever order works for you.

At 5 p.m., the Banana Cat Gathering moves to Shame & Regret for the after-party and costume contest. The registration listing puts the gathering at 5 to 6 p.m. Contest winners must be there to collect their prizes.

What does the $5 ticket include?

Downtown Partnership’s September 30 announcement lists an event wristband, a limited-edition Banana Cat sticker, access to the $10 drink specials, after-party admission and entry into the costume contest.

The drink specials are purchases, not drinks included in the $5 ticket. Budget for those separately.

The entry fee benefits Downtown Ventures and Art on the Streets, the public-art program behind pieces such as Bananacat.

Pick your costume, then check the organizer’s ticket page

The costume prompt is wonderfully uncomplicated: banana, cat or bananacat. Cat ears are an option. Going all the way into a giant banana costume is also an option. The combined version is where things get interesting.

The organizer’s announcement counts four featured bars, while its detailed page separates three crawl stops from the gathering at Shame & Regret. Use the official event page for the current route and ticket link before heading out.

The ticket price is announced; remaining ticket availability has not been confirmed. If the registration page does not load, contact Downtown Partnership through the event listing rather than assuming the event is sold out.

A Sunday afternoon, a ridiculous costume and a little support for downtown art. That is a much better use for a banana outfit than letting it sit in the closet.
