The Starbucks logo is not a dishwasher instruction. Before you load your cup, check its own care label or the directions that came with it.
Can it go in? The answer is, it depends on the cup.
Annoying when you just want to finish the dishes? Absolutely. But a guess is not much of a washing plan.
For one specific example, Starbucks UK’s Spring 2026 collection page calls the Sakura Reusable Cold Cup 24oz dishwasher safe. Helpful if that’s your cup. If it isn’t, you still need the instructions for yours.
Here’s what to look for:
- The exact cup. Match the model and size. A nearly identical tumbler is not the one you’re trying to wash.
- The dishwasher directions. Follow any rack or cycle restrictions stated in those instructions.
- The other pieces. Check the directions for the lid and any removable parts, too.
And if all you can find is “microwave safe,” keep looking for the dishwasher directions. Different question.
No readable label? Take photos of the cup, its base and any remaining markings, and ask Starbucks or the seller for the care instructions. Keep it out of the dishwasher while you track those down.
Your favorite cup does not need an experimental cycle.
