Carol Baskin’s First Performance On Dancing With The Stars Will Be To “Eye Of The Tiger” And I Was Right

Hey all you cool cats and kittens!

The second I saw the news that Carol Baskin was going to be on Dancing With The Stars, I turned to my husband and said “Ten bucks says she picks cat themed songs.” And now he owes me $10.

I think it’s safe to say that my jaw dropped when I heard that Carol Baskin was going to be on Dancing with the Stars. Sure, she’s…chipper. But I don’t necessarily see her dancing around with a partner to a popular number. In fact, I thought it was a joke at first.

Baskin spoke to E! News on September 9th, explaining why she chose to compete on Dancing with the Stars and what her plans were:

“I was just approved yesterday to release that we are doing ‘Eye of the Tiger,’ so I’m very excited about that,” she shared.

So after knowing she’s going to dance to a song about tigers, the only other question we really have is: What animal print is she going to wear?

“I’m actually sitting in my car outside of costuming right now. And I gave them the instructions that no fur, no feathers, no leather, and anything else,” she explained.

She stated that she had been receiving many media opportunities after Tiger King aired and had been continuously turning them down. It was her daughter who pushed her to reconsider joining DWTS.

Carole said she is hoping to put “cats in the spotlight.”

“That’s why I feel so much pressure to stay in this competition for as long as I possibly can,” she expressed, adding, “Because every single week, I hope to be giving that message in front of people that these cats don’t belong in cages, and we have to save them in the wild before they disappear completely.”

She also claims that the cats are giving her inspiration for her dances.

“Leopards gives me the most inspiration because they manage to do everything by using the absolute least amount of energy necessary to achieve their goals.”

“When they kill an animal, they can pull an animal that’s something like 10 times their weight up into a tree,” she added. “And that way, they don’t have to fight off lions and hyenas, so I really think the way the leopard moves is something I want to bring to the dance floor.”

This season of Dancing with the Stars will be premiering September 14th. So whether you are a Carol Baskin fan or just want to watch 2020’s latest excitement, join me! And then come back and let me know what you thought in the comments!
