Apple Pie Caramel, Gingerbread Caramel, and Magic Mocha sound like a pretty good reason to open a tiny door every morning. Chococo has two chocolate Advent calendars to choose from: Classic and plant-based, each with 25 chocolates for $70.

These are currently NYC pickup-only calendars. You can order online for free collection at Chococo’s Midtown or Upper East Side shop, but its current policy does not offer shipping. The two calendars are sold separately, so the pair pictured is not a $70 bundle.

Which Chococo Advent calendar should you choose?

The Classic Advent Calendar mixes chocolate styles and fillings, with milk, dark, blonde, and oat milk chocolates in the lineup. Apple Pie Caramel pairs apple and cinnamon with a dark chocolate shell. Gingerbread Caramel Gem brings treacle and warming spices to milk chocolate, while Nuts About Nuts Truffle combines hazelnut praline, milk chocolate, and caramelized hazelnuts.

If caramels and milk chocolate are your priority, start with that list.

The Plant-based Advent Calendar has 25 chocolates across 14 flavors, using dark and oat milk chocolate. Pecan & Maple combines pecan butter, maple sugar, and oat milk chocolate. Magic Mocha adds coffee, and Chai Spiced Gem includes cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and clove.

That gives you a different mix to compare, rather than simply choosing a different-colored box. Both calendars run through Christmas Day, and both lists include chocolates made with alcohol, such as Champagne Truffle and Spiced Rum Gem.

How NYC pickup works

Chococo’s pickup policy lists two collection spots:

  • Midtown: 500 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10022.
  • Upper East Side: 1293 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10021.

The shops are listed as open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Choose your shop at checkout and wait for the ready-to-collect email before heading over. Bring that email and a photo ID; Chococo says it holds pickup orders for seven days.
