This Crochet Doll Pattern Has Major Sam Energy, and It’s Still Available

Some Halloween decorations are cute. Some are creepy. This little crochet doll looked at both options and said, “Yes.”

BlueRabbitToys still has its Halloween Boy crochet pattern available. The orange outfit, button eyes and sack-style hood bring major Sam-from-Trick ‘r Treat energy, although the pattern page calls it “Halloween boy” and does not present it as officially licensed movie merchandise.

Also: this is the pattern. Not the doll. That distinction has saved many an online cart.

What comes with the crochet pattern?

The pattern page says this is a PDF with crochet instructions and step photos. English using US crochet terms, Danish, French and Spanish are listed as available languages.

BlueRabbitToys says the pattern is meant for crocheters who already know the basics of amigurumi and can sew the pieces together. So, maybe do not make this the project where you learn what a magic ring is.

How big is the finished Halloween doll?

The designer lists the finished doll at about 19 centimeters, or 7.5 inches. The exact size can change with your yarn and hook choices.

The materials list includes fine yarn, a small crochet hook, stuffing, a yarn needle, scissors, pins, button eyes, black embroidery thread and twine. The example uses a 1.9 mm hook and 20 mm buttons, but the designer specifically notes that your choices will affect the final size.

Can you sell a doll made from the pattern?

According to the designer’s pattern terms, buyers may sell finished items they make by hand as long as BlueRabbitToys is credited. The PDF pattern itself cannot be resold, shared or republished.

Prices and sales can change, so check the current shop listing before buying. The useful part is knowing this is a paid pattern, not a finished doll, and exactly which supplies to gather before your yarn takes over the dining room.

If you want a second spooky project waiting in the wings, these bat and zombie crochet patterns are a completely different flavor of cute little monster.

This one, though? Button eyes. Orange pajamas. Just enough unsettling energy to keep the candy bowl honest. Your yarn basket has been warned.
