American Girl’s 2027 Girl of the Year is headed to Molly McIntire’s old summer camp. Daisy Davenport wears a little nod to Molly on her purple shirt: the number 44.

The camp is Gowonagin, and American Girl says Molly’s 1944 capture-the-flag adventure becomes part of Daisy’s own camp story.

Molly’s camp story lives on

According to American Girl’s character guide, Daisy finds inspiration in a display about earlier campers, including Molly. The connection is built into the story, right down to Daisy’s Badger Cabin, also known as Cabin #44.

Daisy is a 10-year-old from Madison, Wisconsin, who loves soccer, guitar and the outdoors. She expects to be great at camp, too. Then her best friend can’t come, and three weeks away from home starts looking a lot less simple.

Daisy has homesickness, a fear of the dark and some teamwork trouble to work through. She’s used to taking charge, and camp doesn’t always go along with the plan.

What comes with the $135 Daisy doll

The Daisy Davenport doll-and-book set is listed at $135 on American Girl’s site.

Daisy is an 18-inch doll with green eyes and long auburn-red hair with bangs. She comes in the purple 44 shirt, a denim-look pleated skort, striped socks and purple tennis shoes. The paperback Meet Daisy Davenport is included.

That book detail is worth checking before you buy: Meet Daisy Davenport contains chapters 1–7 of the longer story. The full Daisy Davenport Saves the Day book is a separate $7.99 purchase. Both are written by Megan Wagner Lloyd.

The camp cabin, guitar and other playsets shown in Daisy’s collection are separate purchases. The $135 set gets you the doll, her outfit and the included paperback.
