Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel has a Halloween display that looks like it walked straight out of The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack Skellington, Sally and Zero appear on Spiral Hill, with Oogie Boogie and the Mayor joining them. Disney says its pastry team spent more than 800 hours making it. Yes, eight hundred.
The confection uses 140 pounds of fondant, 175 pounds of chocolate, 150 pounds of powdered sugar, 105 pounds of rice cereal and 38 pounds of marshmallows, according to Disney Parks Blog’s September 28 look at its hotel displays. I would absolutely stop and stare at Spiral Hill for a while.
Where can you see it?
The display is at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa at Disneyland Resort. Disney’s guide says there are Halloween hotel experiences for both day visitors and overnight guests, while some activities are reserved for registered hotel guests. If you are going specifically for this display, check the hotel’s current access information before you travel; the guide does not promise unrestricted access to every hotel area.
There is more Halloween art at the other resort hotels: Pixar Place Hotel has Monsters, Inc. designs featuring Mike, Sulley and Boo, and Disneyland Hotel has Haunted Mansion-inspired stretching-room displays. Disneyland Hotel also has a five-foot Mickey pumpkin confection near Goofy’s Kitchen, with 13 hidden Mickeys.
Overnight guests have a separate complimentary Halloween Time Treat Trail with a wristband, guide and treat bag from the front desk. That is a hotel-guest activity, not a perk to assume comes with a day visit. Disney lists professional pumpkin-carving demonstrations at Disneyland Hotel on select dates October 13–31, 2026.
