I have a deeply specific complaint about kitchen gadgets.
Why are so many of them shaped like they were designed specifically to jam a drawer?
Citrus squeezers are some of the worst offenders. They have the giant bowl. The handles. The hinge. You put one in the utensil drawer and suddenly nothing else is allowed to close.
Dreamfarm’s Fluicer does the obvious thing nobody else bothered to do: it folds completely flat.
Oh. Okay. Yes. That.
It is a citrus press that turns into basically a flat stick
The Fluicer looks a little strange at first because the hinge works differently from the classic cup-shaped lemon press.
Instead of squashing half a lemon straight down into a bowl, the Fluicer’s hinged sides fold together and press the fruit from the sides. Dreamfarm says the sideways pivot gives you more leverage while using the larger muscles in your arms instead of asking your hands to do all the work.
Then when you are finished, it unfolds flat enough to slide into a drawer without creating an entire citrus-juicer district.
That alone gets my attention.
It also catches the seeds while you pour
There is a built-in pip catcher at the end of the Fluicer that strains the juice and doubles as a little funnel, so the juice goes toward your glass or bowl instead of doing that thing where half of it travels directly down your wrist.
The whole thing is dishwasher safe, too.
I realize none of this is curing world hunger. I also realize that every small kitchen annoyance somebody removes from my life makes me weirdly happy.
There are three sizes, because apparently citrus has a dress code
Dreamfarm makes the Fluicer in three sizes: green for limes, yellow for lemons and a larger orange version for oranges.
The brand says the yellow lemon size is its most popular and can handle lemons and limes. If you want to squeeze actual oranges, you need to size up to the orange one.
And yes, you still cut the fruit in half first.
Please do not shove an entire lemon in there and blame me.
This thing has already gotten a ridiculous amount of design attention
Dreamfarm says the Fluicer was featured by TIME in its Best Inventions of 2023 coverage, and honestly the appeal makes sense: this is not a gadget that adds 14 features nobody asked for.
It takes a thing that already works and fixes the one part that is annoying.
It stores flat.
Beautiful.
Would I buy one?
I have not personally tested the Fluicer, so I am not going to pretend I know whether it gets the last molecule of juice out of a sad grocery-store lemon.
But I like the design for the same reason I liked the shower head that opens so you can actually clean the inside: it solves a boring household problem with a very obvious physical change.
Those are my favorite gadgets.
Not “AI-powered spoon.”
Just: “Hey, what if this annoying bulky thing wasn’t bulky anymore?”
Where to get the Dreamfarm Fluicer
Dreamfarm sells the Fluicer in lime, lemon and orange sizes, and Walmart carries the fold-flat juicer as well.

If your utensil drawer currently has to be hip-checked closed, I feel like this is exactly the energy we need from kitchen-tool designers going forward.
