As you might have already noticed, Facebook has added two new emoji reactions and they’re pretty cute!

These new emoji’s are fitting for everything we are going through right now. They help show how much we care (besides using the heart emoji).

The addition to the list of reactions already on Facebook, are to show extra support amid everything that’s been going on lately due to the virus.

They call the two new emojis, “care” reactions! One is of an emoji face hugging a heart (this displays under a post on Facebook and within comments now) and the other is a heart reaction you can use within messenger.

The Facebook team has explained why they have added the two new emojis and it’s pretty darn sweet!

Because of the quarantine, many of us feel isolated from seeing our friends and family. Well, Facebook has noted that the new hugging emoji and purple heart are here to help us stay more connected by giving extra support even while being apart!

You can find the hugging emoji included with the rest of Facebook’s reactions when you place your cursor above the like button.

However the new purple pulsating heart, can only be found in Messenger and here’s how to locate it!

To show the pulsating heart on your screen, you’ll need to press and hold down on the regular heart reaction for it to pop up, and vis versa if you prefer the regular heart instead!

Let it also be noted that Facebook has not added a new reaction since the OG list originally came out in 2015.

Considering what’s going on in society today, now is the perfect time to add two new reactions to the list because if there’s anything we all need right now, it’s a hug!

Keep in mind not everyone will have these features right now but Facebook says the emoji should be available nationwide this week.
