Game Stop Just Announced They Are Closing All Of Their Stores

I think I just heard all the gamers of the world cry in synchrony… Game Stop Just Announced They Are Closing All Of Their Stores!

After telling employees that they were part of the “essential workforce” Game Stop has officially decided to follow the recommendations from the CDC and government officials, and close their storefronts.

If you are anything like us, this SUCKS. My husband had his pre-order for Resident Evil 3 with GameStop and we’ve been trying to make it to release date before this happened.

However, if you are like us and have been worried this day would come, there is light at the end of the tunnel…

Although Game Stop storefronts will be closed, they are doing things to help ensure gamers still have access to getting games.

Because after all, what else are we all going to do while we are stuck inside?

According to Game Stop’s press release,

“Effective Sunday March 22, 2020, for all locations not already closed in accordance with state and local orders, GameStop will temporarily stop customer access to storefronts, processing orders on a digital only basis, moving to curbside pick-up at stores and eCommerce delivery only. This will allow the Company to continue to serve customers who have purchased online at GameStop.com and the GameStop app and have requested a product pick-up at their local store.”

So, if you have a pre-order like we do, there is hope you can still get your reserved game.

Also, they ARE paying Game Stop employees for the next 2 weeks even though many of them won’t be working.
