Garfield finally has a reason to get off the couch, and of course it involves lasagna going terribly wrong.
Garfield: Escape from Monday arrives September 24, 2026. The new platforming adventure puts the world’s most committed nap enthusiast inside a nightmare full of vegetables. Honestly, that is a very Garfield emergency.
The trouble starts with spinach lasagna
According to publisher Microids, Jon makes spinach lasagna from Chef Monday’s recipe. Garfield falls asleep and ends up in a bizarre dream populated by vegetables, sugar-free candy and other things he would very much prefer not to deal with.
The solution is an adventure through three worlds and more than 40 levels, collecting lasagna and facing enemies along the way. Odie, Arlene and Pookie are part of the cast, so it is not just Garfield wandering through produce by himself.
Garfield gets costumes with different abilities
The publisher describes three special outfits: a turkey costume for taking to the air, a surfer outfit for sliding across water, and a cowboy costume with a lasso.
Regular movement includes jumping, climbing walls and curling into a ball. Collectibles can also help you furnish Jon’s house. I like that the premise leaves room for Garfield’s familiar world as well as the weird dream setting.
What platforms is it coming to?
The announced platforms are Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Microids lists the game as single-player, with development by OSome Studio.
That single-player detail is worth checking if you are considering it as a gift for siblings or expecting a couch co-op game. Confirm the exact platform and edition before ordering; a recognizable character on the box does not tell you which system the copy works with.

I haven’t played Escape from Monday, so I can’t tell you how the controls feel, how difficult the levels are or whether it earns a permanent spot in the rotation. For now, it is a September release to watch if Garfield nostalgia and colorful platformers are your thing.
