IKEA has a little ghost that changes color when you press its head, and it is considerably easier to find a spot for than another giant Halloween decoration.

The KUSTFYR LED ghost lamp is listed at $12.99 on IKEA’s U.S. site. It has two tiny black eyes and both arms raised, as though it is trying very hard to be frightening. The effect is mostly adorable.

The head tap is the fun part

According to IKEA, pressing the top turns the lamp on or off and changes the light. You can choose white or purple, or let it cycle between them. The shade is silicone rubber.

There is a practical little feature hiding underneath the cute face, too: a timer that can shut the light off after 30 minutes or 8 hours.

That gives you a choice between a short evening glow and keeping the Halloween mood going for much longer, without having to remember one more light at the end of the night.

It is small, and batteries are extra

The lamp is 5 inches tall with a 4-inch base diameter. Think desk companion or a small shelf accent. Measure the spot you have in mind before expecting a statement piece.

It runs on two AA batteries, sold separately, and IKEA recommends its LADDA 2450 mAh rechargeable batteries. There is no outlet to plan around, but those batteries belong on the shopping list.

IKEA recommends indoor use only. Keep this ghost inside rather than sending it out to greet trick-or-treaters in the weather.

You can check the current price and delivery or store availability on IKEA’s product page; enter your location before making a trip. The article number is 006.325.50, which is useful if searching “cute little ghost” produces approximately the entire Halloween aisle.
