  1. As a manager at a Starbucks, I can say we love secret menu drinks! These are actually fun to make and they change it up from the normal stuff we do everyday! Like other people have said on here, just don’t expect your barista to know the drink off the top of their heads, as it isn’t an official recipe we are required to learn! So if you can tell us what’s in it, and we have the ingredients, we would be happy to make any drink for you!

  2. Sheesh … who knew asking an employee at a franchise coffee establishment to make a specialized drink would cause so much hate to people wanting something new and seasonal exciting …. they state to simply ask for

“Single shot, Chai, Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino, Whipped Cream and Java Chips on top, with Mocha Drizzle inside the cup.”

So if you ask for the seasonal creation name they get upset … but if you ask for a Frappuccino made with the ingredients they won’t??

My daughter was excited to try this .

Here is a tip for those baristas complaining about new creations …. your in the wrong job if you have no creative mind working in a place who has different creative drinks!!!

    1. Here’s the thing… we don’t know these recipes. There is no such actual thing as a “secret menu” … our normal menu is tough enough to memorize! We are happy to make whatever you want if you order it using the ingredients/recipe, but it’s near impossible to keep up with every single fan creation that pops up on the Internet. It also tends to happen that this gets ordered (without the ingredients/directions) in the drive through during peak times when we are held to pretty rigid standards for how long it should take to get you and your order from the speaker to driving away.. Just be prepared to order with details the way it’s listed if you want a custom creation and then be understanding in return while we try to locate all the appropriate modifier buttons so it gets done correctly.

      1. Because (now that I’ve read more comments) it’s NOT that it isn’t fun and cute, nor is it that we’re entitled or in the wrong job… it’s that I have to make sure it all goes into a computer to print on a sticker in a way that’s clear enough for someone else to make, usually in a rush… and some of these definitely cute creations involve steps that are Challenging to put into that system. Just be cool about it and most baristas will too!

  3. The problem with these items is most if the time we have no idea what you are talking about until we have to Google the beverage ourselves or wait for the customer to do so which slows down production. It’s totally fine if you call it out with the ingredient list for us, but with SO many recipes be mindful that we’re don’t always know what they are.

  4. Sounds like the “Baristas” that are complaining are the people that just signed up for a job that looked better than being at a fast food place. I get it, I hate people too, but they hate your huffy eye-rolling fake greeting stupid I work-at-Star-bucks-holier-than-thou face as much as you hate them. So you’re not going to make tips except from your lame closed off circle of lame like minded friends or the douche.

    1. @Jea,
How can you say something so stupid like that? If you hate people then keep your opinions to yourself and don’t post on a social media page where people will comment to you. There are certain people in this world that are creating the destruction of humanity and it seems like you may be one of them.

To other people on this page that want to talk down on Baristas, why don’t you try working in a place that has so many different ways of creating drinks and/or food and try to remember every single ingredient that a new customer comes up with along with the original menu items. I don’t think there would be many people who could do that without having a eidetic memory! (By the way if anyone may not know what that means, then eidetic means you can memorize everything like Sheldon Cooper from Big Bang Theory.)

  5. Just so you guys are aware, drink modifications like this create extra waiting time for you and other people. If you’re cool with that, we’re cool with that. Contrary to what the baristas below are saying, custom drinks aren’t the end of the world and most of the baristas that I work with actually reccommend adding modifications to a lot of our regulars, 1. to keep things fun and interesting, 2. to make customers happy, 3. to make the company profit because those extra modifications cost more money.
It’s all just common sense. Treat others how you want to be treated and that’s it.

  6. Wish there was one with no sugar. Sugar Free. ???

    1. You can always substitute the mocha drizzle with skinny mocha drizzle and we can use nonfat milk instead of whole milk and finally we can put less pumps of pumpkin in the drink! This would reduce most but not all the sugar!

      1. Most places are no longer have sugar free. They should add cookie crumble instead of the java chips. No point to them unless they are blended.

  7. I really don’t mind making different, creative drinks for people. I don’t mind taking the extra time to make someone happy as long as I have the ingredients to do so and I’m allowed to do so. Like I technically can’t make that Tik Tok drink that was trending awhile back because we’re not allowed to put anything in the blenders that isn’t in a official Starbucks Recipe cause if the wrong eyes see that and it gets reported I could lose my job. So all in all I would make anything for anyone as long as they also respect what I can and can’t do for them. ☺️ I think this sounds pretty good, I think I would substitute espresso (especially blonde espresso if it’s available at your Starbucks) for the frappuccino coffee roast instead of adding to it. Maybe a pump of white mocha instead of the pump of chai, cause pumpkin spice and chai isn’t for everyone and white mocha would give a little sweetness to it.

  8. Wow listening to some of these people who “chose” to be a Barista for a living kinda makes this fun thing not so fun. I was so down for trying something new and innovative no matter if it cost a few more dollars or took a mom more to make but they make it seem like it will wreck their whole day along with everyone else’s for someone to alter a drink and try something new. As a server in a restaurant I don’t believe I have ever once heard a cook complain about someone not wanting something in their food. Ie.. no onions on my burger no cheese cook my eggs this way or etc.. it’s part of customer service. If you dont like it pick a new career path. Its discouraging to people who like to try new things I drink something from star bucks every night when I work cause I’m a night worker and ya know what for get it I’m ordering this tonight. Discourgament ended !!!

  9. Like Jamie says just have fun Jesus that’s the only person on here that doesn’t complain like a little b***h

  10. You should have it marked on your title that it’s a secret menu drink, because of you, we get yelled at for not knowing what your made up hookypooky Frappuccino. And this isn’t the first time you’ve done this.

  11. Ewww I prefer real ingredients. Starbucks is nothing but GMO crap.

  12. I’ve been a barista and owner of a coffee catering business for about 8 years. Let me tell you that i love when people ask me for off the wall things.it makes me want to try them myself. Who cares if is complicated. Whocares if it takes an extra couple minutes. Get over it or find a job that doesn’t involve a smile on your face no matter what, telling yourself that the customer is always right and your job is to make them happy, and the making of beverages or food in a quick paced environment

  13. I feel that with all of these baristas complaining about people just making up a drink. Keep in mind they are buying and using their money to go towards this drink so instead of complaining that oh it’s gonna hold up the line and it’s so hard to make a 2 minute drink that’s not on the menu. Well that’s what the customer wants and you are gonna have to make it regardless I get it you make millions of drinks a day but the customer always comes first no matter what. Be mad I do not care I work in the restaurant business I get it people can be extra but it’s okay because they are the customer.

      1. How do u think your bills get paid?

      2. haha seriously. It’s just something fun. These baristas so mad.

  14. This sounds absolutely delicious ? I’ll try this soon. As for the baristas complaining, your job is customer service and customers should be top priority! Yes there’s no secret menu, but this is festive and creative & from a customers viewpoint you would try the same. Relax a little, be kind and appreciate your job. You can quit and give your job to someone else if you want to complain lol.

    Sincerely,

    A former barista/barista trainer ^_^

  15. Not only will these “secret menu” (there is no secret menu) recipes take longer to make and then cause everybody else to wait even longer for their drinks, the “secret menu” drinks will cost you typically 9 dollars because of all the add ons that we charge you for. If you’re cool with that, more power to you, I won’t tell you how to spend your money. But please be considerate and order these drinks after the morning rush (6am-8am rush), or before or after the lunch rush (11am-1pm). We’re more than happy to serve you and help you get your drink just right but the people that tend to order these complicated drinks usually are entitled bullies, so we’re wary of them based on past experience.

    1. I 100% agree! This is exactly how I feel. Come with your ingredients because secret menu isn’t something most baristas know about as people make them up themselves to their tastes. Yes it does take more time and can be frustrating depending on how busy we are because it takes more to think about the process of making the drinks and what is being asked to make when you’re in a flow. Overall, it’s not bad we just need you to be prepared so we can properly help you.

  16. STOP THIS FAKE MESS!!!! STARBUCKS DOES NOT ADVERTISE NOR DO WE OFFER THIS DRINK IN OUR STORE!!! WE HAVE FAR TO MUCH TO DEAL WITH AND REMEMBER THAN TO HAVE PEOPLE COMING IN AND EXPECTING US TO MAKE THIS OR EVEN KNOW WHAT THE HELL THIS DRINK IS!!! THERE IS NO SECRET MENU AND OUR JOB IS NOT I REPEAT IS NOT TO UPHOLD AND OR REMEMBER THESE RANDOM DRINKS YOU PEOPLE MAKE UP AND THEN TRY TO PUT IT UNDER OUR NAME LIKE WE ARE THE ONES OFFERING/ADVERTISING IT!!!

    1. They were just trying to use your flavors no one said u guys were Offering or advertising them if u read the article it tells u what to ask for damn

    2. Dont you dare go into a restaurant and alter one item on the menu. You’re going to eat it the way its printed on the menu and like it.

    3. Sounds like we should all go to DUTCH BROS. I’m SURE they would be HAPPY to make whatever we would like !! ?

    4. Customer Service? If thats how a customer wants their drink made then thats fine. I work at a DQ and people create their own creations all the time. We’ll gladly make it if we have the items in stock

      1. DQ is always so nice and doesn’t make you feel like how dare you order that? You ruined my day. If customers have to wait, they will. I served and managed a restaurant for 10 years.

  17. As a barista, secret menu items do not exist, this is just a super extra “themed” drink that Starbucks does not publicly advertise.

  18. I swear is people start ordering this in my store smh.

  19. Actually, no we don’t. Us BARISTAS have enough legitimate drinks to memorize without the BS of secret menu drinks thrown in. And we don’t have the downtime to ‘practice’ making secret menu drinks. I don’t know what it is that you think we do with our time, , but clearly it isn’t correct.

  20. It’s bull that Batista’s hate secret recipes. Good batistas know and even practice making them.

  21. Thank you ! Baristas hate secret menu drinks they waste so much time especially when we’re busy, just find a drink you like on the menu don’t make some complicated 2 minute drink up, and I know 2 minutes doesn’t sound like a lot but for barista time it’s 4x too long for a single drink

    1. I used to be a barista and I loved when people would come up with thier own creations, id even remember some and upsell to other people and some i even made sure to remember for myself. Idk what all the shade from baristas is about on here. But this drink sounds epic. I love it except I might skip the Chai part and just get the espresso shot.
