Kim Kardashian Receives Backlash Over Picture of Newborn Son, Experts Warn Her Baby Is In Danger
Kim Kardashian and Kayne West welcomed their 4th child – a baby boy via surrogate earlier this month and recently, Kim took to Twitter to share the first picture of him.
While many were both distracted and confused by his name “Psalm West” others were quick to tell Kim that something was very wrong in the picture…
At first look you see a newborn baby all swaddled and sleeping peacefully in his crib but when you further examine the photo, you’ll realize (especially if you’re a parent) how much is truly wrong with this photo…
For starters, the crib has crib bumpers and according to the American Academy of Pediatrics, these are dangerous and should not be used.
Secondly, the baby is swaddled in loose blankets which can cause suffocation.
And third, there is a cushion (resembles a DockATot) that can also cause suffocation or SIDS related death since it can cause the surface to be too soft and not firm like traditional crib mattresses.
And experts agree, in fact many experts including doctors tweeted at Kim informing her of the dangers and basically begging her to fix the issue before it’s too late…
And other people were leaving her messages to try to get her to understand the dangers associated with the way her son was placed in the crib.
I went to look through the tweets and it looks like tweets on that thread are being deleted left and right.
Let’s just hope this photo was a “one time” thing and parents use this as a lesson on how to NOT place your newborn to sleep.
