Laurie Berkner has an eight-song EP out, and one of the songs is called “Running Out Of Time.” A title that works equally well for a small child racing around the house and the adult trying to get that child into shoes.
I Got Invited arrived September 4, 2026, from Two Tomatoes Records. Berkner describes it as music for imagining, moving and singing along. Sitting politely with your hands folded does not appear to be the assignment.
A little adventure for the living room
On her official album page, Berkner explains that the songs grew out of the imaginary land of Juniper Fields and Harry the Chipmunk’s treasure hunt. She also says they stand on their own, so you don’t need to catch up on a whole series first.
The release includes “I Got Invited,” “Who,” “Top Of The Hillside,” “Running Out Of Time,” “Take A Picture,” “When I’m With You I’m Home,” “Amusement Park” and a reprise of the title track.
In the announcement sent to Totally The Bomb, “Take A Picture” invites kids to pretend they’re photographers, while the title song plays with the excitement of getting an invitation. Those are simple ideas with plenty of room for a kid to make them their own.
