Okay, LISA did not come to the 2026 VMAs to quietly collect an award and go home.
She performed “SaWaDiKa” live on the VMA stage — and the whole thing looked like somebody turned a tuk-tuk, a fight scene and a pop concert into one giant fever dream.
The performance came after LISA had already won Best Pop earlier in the night for “Dream,” which means she somehow managed to have two completely different main-character moments in the same show.
This was the TV debut of “SaWaDiKa”
CBS and MTV had announced before the show that LISA would use the VMAs for the television debut of “SaWaDiKa,” the new single from her upcoming PRESS PLAY EP.
Then the performance actually happened.
The official CBS photo feed from tonight shows LISA performing onstage during the live broadcast, including the absolutely impossible-to-miss tuk-tuk setup behind her.
The staging was doing A LOT
This was not a stand-at-the-microphone situation.
LISA performed surrounded by dancers, fight-style choreography and that massive vehicle set piece, which made the whole thing feel more like an action sequence than a normal awards-show performance.
And honestly? That is exactly what you want at the VMAs.
LISA already won Best Pop tonight
Earlier in the show, LISA took home Best Pop for “Dream” and got visibly emotional during her acceptance.
So by the time she hit the stage, she had already had one of the sweetest moments of the night.
Then she basically flipped a switch and turned the stage into chaos.
Very efficient, honestly.
