I can not contain my excitement over this one! Some people laugh at me, but I love ‘Little House on the Prairie’! It was one of my all time favorite shows growing up!

Paramount TV Studios and Anonymous Content is developing a one-hour dramatic series adaptation of the beloved franchise.

Anonymous Content is known for ’13 Reasons Why’, ‘Homecoming’, and ‘Dickinson’. The ‘Little House on the Prairie’ reboot will be a one-hour dramatic series adaptation.

Trip Friendly is expected to serve as an executive producer. I’m so shocked it has taken this long for this to happen but I am SO ready for it! I mean life on the farm in the 1800s is the content we all need in our life!

The original series ran from 1974 through 1983 and I watched it all of the time! I’ve even watched all of the old reruns with my kids over the years.

Peacock also announced it will be streaming old episodes this month. Then on December 29th PBS is airing a docuseries about Laura Ingalls Wilder as part of ‘American Masters’.

Fans are eager to see Little House on the Prairie come back to the screen, and we agree the time is right.

Trip Friendly told EW

Alison Arngrim who played mean ‘ol Nellie Oleson is willing to come back and play Mrs. Oleson since she is the right age for it now! Wouldn’t that be hilarious?

I’m totally there. I have no shame.

So what do you think? Is this a reboot you could get behind? I am all for it!

  1. Not sure how I feel about it. I would watch it t least once or twice for Alison Arngrim. It would totally depend on the rest of the cast and how “modern” it is with regard to language and other situations. I was really disappointed in the Anne of Green Gables reboot due to the dark overtone not present in the original novels.
