Michael J. Fox is inspiring to me for so many reasons! Not only did I grow up watching him on television and in movies, but we share some very similar health issues.
He has never quit fighting, raising awareness, inspiring others, or pursuing research projects to help so many people. Although he may be retiring, he never ever quits!
Right now though, Michael J. Fox is retiring his acting career. I don’t blame him, and this isn’t him giving up, this is self-care.
There is a time for everything, and my time of putting in a 12-hour workday, and memorizing seven pages of dialogue, is best behind me. At least for now … I enter a second retirement. That could change, because everything changes. But if this is the end of my acting career, so be it.Michael J. Fox revealed in his new book: No Time Like the Future: An Optimist Considers Mortality
Notice how he didn’t say this was permanent? That is because Michael adapts. He accepts things as they happen and works through them the best that he can and makes decisions as he needs to. He doesn’t give up.
He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease when he was 29 years old. A lot of people think this is a disease that just makes people shake, no… it is much more than that.
Parkinson’s has a huge impact on memory that is often overlooked by people. Imagine memorizing lines while declining, it blows my mind!
He is truly inspiring! Make sure you check out his recent cameo in Lil Nas X’s newest music video.
