Like, it was funny, it was cute, I didn’t even fall asleep once — which I was totally expecting to do.

If you haven’t seen it yet, seriously, I promise it’s really a good time.

And, it just did something which I didn’t think was going to be possible for a while.

It knocked Top Gun: Maverick out of first place at the box office!!

Paramount

LAST week, the Elvis Presley biopic and Top Gun: Maverick actually TIED for first place with cinema goers. BUT this week, with the opening of Minions: The Rise of Gru, we have a new lead.

 ILLUMINATION

Minions: The Rise of Gru is actually the 5th film in the Despicable Me franchise. And, it is the best so far, IMHO.

 ILLUMINATION

According to Entertainment Weekly, it “took in an estimated three-day total of $108.5 million and is expected to total $127.9 by the end of the Fourth of July weekend.”

 ILLUMINATION

Can you believe it? A little animated film is DOMINATING the box office!

 ILLUMINATION

If it keeps on its current trajectory, Minions: The Rise of Gru will be the highest July 4th opening of all time — which is HUGE!!

 ILLUMINATION

That title was previously held by a little 2011 film called Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

If you haven’t yet dipped your toe into the world of Gru and his little yellow minions, do it!

 ILLUMINATION

In Minions: The Rise of Gru, we go on the journey with a little 11-year-old Gru, who has put out an ad for henchmen. The minions answered that call.

 ILLUMINATION

We go along with Gru, as he meets and teams up with his favorite supervillain of all times, Wild Knuckles.

 ILLUMINATION

Stuart, Bob, Kevin, and the whole gang are there to follow their “Tiny Boss” on an adventure to defeat the Vicious 6 — who has ousted Knuckles from their supervillain party.

 ILLUMINATION

We even learn how Dr. Nefario came into the Despicable Me story, and it’s pretty cute. LOL!

 ILLUMINATION

Go buy your tickets, and take the fam to Minions: The Rise of Gru. Everyone will love it!
