Who Is This New Blippi, And What Happened To The Old One?
If your kids are addicted to the larger-than-life character that is Blippi, you may have noticed Blippi looks just a little different.
Stevin John, the creator of Blippi, is apparently needing a little help in the world of Blippi, so there is now a second Blippi in town.
This all started when parents were ENRAGED that Stevin wasn’t going to be showing up as his famous character in the live Blippi shows.
People had already bought their tickets and everything, and then they found out Blippi was being swapped for a stage actor that wasn’t Stevin — like kids wouldn’t notice that?!?
I mean sure, Blippi would still be acting over the top, and wearing his trademark orange eyeglasses, hat, bowtie and suspenders, but people thought they were paying for Stevin, and instead they were getting an imposter of sorts.
Steven has embodied the persona that is Blippi since 2014, and even though this stage actor — Clayton Grimm — kinda looks similar to Blippi, it’s just not the same thing.
In a move that is reminiscent of when Blue’s Clues lost Steve, this week saw Grimm show up as Blippi in a new Learn with Blippi show on Saturday morning.
Due to popular demand we are bringing more Blippi from The Live Show to you all! ? Don’t miss the launch of ‘Learn with Blippi’ tomorrow on Blippi’s YouTube channel. Who’s ready!?

Fans and parents immediately chimed in — as if no one would notice.
It turns out — there are now going to be TWO Blippis.
Blippi, Stevin John, isn’t going anywhere. John will continue to bounce and beep his way through family-friendly attractions in videos to come, with Grimm — helming a set-based format that’s more in line with the Blippi stage show, which will resume touring this summer.
Yahoo Life
In order to bring out more Blippi content, they are going to split the programming between the TWO Blippis.
I mean, shouldn’t they call him Bloppi or Flippi or something different? Having two different Blippis is not going to fly with kids or parents.
What do you think about this new addition to the world of Blippi?

My daughter says that is not Blippi when I showed her a pic of the new Blippi I do believe this will be a show she will not want to watch bc they look nothing alike
🤔 me when I seen the NEW BLIPPI
🤭 I thought he was some dude pretending to get famous/views to make money acting as Blippi
lol 😂
I also think real Blippi should make him is brother that went to vacation and picks him up to come home 🤣🥰
I like the idea of having Stevin on with the “new Blippi” to introduce him as a friend helper. And I like Flippi for the name. It’s like you’re flipping to the new Blippi, Flippi. lol It’s definitely noticeable that it’s a different guy, even though he’s done a good job of using the same voice. Stevin can’t be everywhere so if he’s going to do live shows and you don’t want to stop filming while he’s on tour, the best solution is giving the new Blippi a new name as a helper.
@Crystal, this is a great idea. They should hire you before making any more bad decisions.
My grandkids love both!!
I told my 4 year old that wasn’t blippi, he told me yes it is. So my 4 year old cry tell the difference
@Kelsey,Same. I’m only here because my son was adamant that this new Blippi was the original one. I had to turn to Google to check.😂
@Kelsey, YES, my grandson just turned 3 and every time I see this new guy I say ‘That’s not the real Blip[pi” and he says YES IT IS, Pop Pop! LOL
My thoughts are that the only way kids and parents can settle in on this whole “two Blippi” things is to do as someone suggested . . . Have them two distinct characters, Blippi and Flippi or something. Even doing a few shows together to get the new character accepted by the kiddos might help. As with other TV shows, usually when they bring in a new actor to replace one who leaves, it doesn’t usually go vell.
This guy doesn’t even break dance like the blippi we know ! He’s a fake !
An impostor or fake Blippi. Don’t like this at all.
I have a 2 year old that loves to watch blippi I put blippi on YouTube for him and go to watch it and I knew that it wasn’t him when I saw him and when he spoke he tries to act and sound like the real blippi but I’m sorry it’s not working for him at all maybe they should have named him something else and announced that he’s blippi new partner instead of having two blippi that makes us think that the real blippi is being replaced with a new one my 2 year old don’t care for the new blippi
He’s only one man he can’t be every where at once so for the people complaining that he wasn’t on the stage now he has time to be on live shows people are never happy he’s just trying to please everyone the best he can its just like going to Disneyland and not seeing the real characters get over it people
@Jess, 🙌🏼 my sentiments exactly
@E, i searched for this comment because i knew it would be here. Those of you whos kids noticed tell tehm they are invalid . And the parents..you have opinions ??? For shame… Think freely and feel free to use forums to express them to the dismay of those who would rather frown you down than let you enjoy your freedoms.
my turn….
New blippis bunk. He shhould have prepared for fame when he started getting traction. MOST kids will be sad and confused. #imanexcavator
@Jess, Amen
My parents and I noticed and were like “yeah. that’s not our blippi” So please bring blippi back! My 3 year old brother noticed it and he was really sad. And yeah you should call him something else. just introduce him as someone who is going to like have fun with blippi. he will just work with him and it should be like “blippi and bloppi”.
Yes!! They should have DEFINITELY named him something else. Like why not address the elephant in the room. People would be more accepting if it didn’t seem like the two guys were trying to be the same person. It’s weird and confusing!
My kids didn’t even notice! Happy for Blippi’s success! ❤️
I was in complete shock the first time I saw this new Blippi. Some kind of warning would have been nice I mean c’mon.
@Amanda, I agree. My 2 year old grandson was NOT happy with the new Blippi.
My 2 1/2 yr old grandson saw the new Blippi. He noticed immediately. Mom and Grandpa didn’t notice until he screamed that’s not Blippi. He didn’t want to watch the program. We had to get something else.
New Blippi will end up like new Coke. Sorry, not as good as the original.
The new blippi is trying to do his job why all the fuss kids will get over the change in time he acts like the orginal Blippi, so let’s just get him a break to do his job. Best wishes Linda the grandma, Arabella and Jade.
People- do you not take your kids to the mall every year to sit in Santa’s lap? It is hardly ever the same “Santa” but his spirit and outfit and demeanor the does the trick. What do you guys expect, for this guy to constantly entertain your kids and not have a life?? Talk about first world problems…your kids are so spoiled they’ll through a fit bc their character is a little different?? That’s crazy…
@Jamie King,
@Hi,
You just shut up, stupid
@Hi, Go mow your lawn and sit the heck down. Jamie isn’t wrong. This is the definition of a ‘first world problem.’
@Jamie King, Santa is seen once a year. Blippi is watched nearly daily. Give kids some credit bud. They often pay more attention to details than parents do.
Also, calling kids spoiled over being disheartened by a role model who is not consistent? Again give kids some credit. Not sure of your age, but how many Mr. Roger’s stand ins do you recall seeing?
My two great grandsons noticed immediately something was wrong and left the room.. this was not blippi ..please bring blippi back ..you can introduce this new guy as someone else
Lol Karen’s in comments lol
@Blow,
there not a karen.. u just dont like blippi
He needs red and green and call him flippi!!! And have blippi introduce him and be in the into with the names!
I just saw this new Blippi and had to google what what was happening with Blippi and this new imposter! Makes me feel sad. I guess we will have to see if he flys with my daughter.
@isabel, my son is watching it just fine. He hasn’t noticed anything different. But I did the same thing you did! Noticed the difference and immediately went to Google
I look like Blipping and would be happy to play Poppy!
My 3 yr old grandson is not happy w this new Blippi. NOT HAPPY AT ALL
I thought my kid would notice, as he’s very clever.I even considered getting his reaction in video.. I was surprised and almost concerned when he didn’t seem to notice at all. Hahah now I just think it’s funny. It seems the only people upset at this are parents. I’m not sure if my son hasn’t noticed, or if he just doesn’t care. He calls anything blue and orange “blippi”, so maybe he understands more than I do that Blippi is just a brand.
@Lonemama, in the intro it doesn’t show the clothes he’s wearing and say blippi it shows him and says blippi
@Lonemama,
your son calls anything blue and orange blippi? … yep sounds very clever
@Robert,
Chill out everywhere. Give the new blippi a break. Seems to me its more of the parents that are use to the old blippi. Kids will get use it him.
