Who Is This New Blippi, And What Happened To The Old One?
If your kids are addicted to the larger-than-life character that is Blippi, you may have noticed Blippi looks just a little different.
Stevin John, the creator of Blippi, is apparently needing a little help in the world of Blippi, so there is now a second Blippi in town.
This all started when parents were ENRAGED that Stevin wasn’t going to be showing up as his famous character in the live Blippi shows.
People had already bought their tickets and everything, and then they found out Blippi was being swapped for a stage actor that wasn’t Stevin — like kids wouldn’t notice that?!?
I mean sure, Blippi would still be acting over the top, and wearing his trademark orange eyeglasses, hat, bowtie and suspenders, but people thought they were paying for Stevin, and instead they were getting an imposter of sorts.
Steven has embodied the persona that is Blippi since 2014, and even though this stage actor — Clayton Grimm — kinda looks similar to Blippi, it’s just not the same thing.
In a move that is reminiscent of when Blue’s Clues lost Steve, this week saw Grimm show up as Blippi in a new Learn with Blippi show on Saturday morning.
Due to popular demand we are bringing more Blippi from The Live Show to you all! ? Don’t miss the launch of ‘Learn with Blippi’ tomorrow on Blippi’s YouTube channel. Who’s ready!?

Fans and parents immediately chimed in — as if no one would notice.
It turns out — there are now going to be TWO Blippis.
Blippi, Stevin John, isn’t going anywhere. John will continue to bounce and beep his way through family-friendly attractions in videos to come, with Grimm — helming a set-based format that’s more in line with the Blippi stage show, which will resume touring this summer.

In order to bring out more Blippi content, they are going to split the programming between the TWO Blippis.
I mean, shouldn’t they call him Bloppi or Flippi or something different? Having two different Blippis is not going to fly with kids or parents.
What do you think about this new addition to the world of Blippi?

I thought it was a Halloween prank.
I think the new blippi does a great job but me and my kid noticed right away. The point of Blippi was he wanted to put out educational content so why not explain my brother or cousin or friend is going to help me while I do my live shows or work etc and not try to trick the kids….
It’s the same concept, dang near the same voice. My kids enjoy the show. I think the new Blippi has the same energy as the original. If you’re that upset watch reruns.
We think both Blippis are great! We love the content and are thankful Blippi will continue!
I noticed it immediately. I wish I hadn’t reacted out loud to it because I feel my kid had just accepted it and was excited to watch a new Blippi Halloween video. But once I did say “that’s not Blippi!” He said, “I think it’s his friend Bloppo.” Made me laugh. That came from a 4 yo. We as parents should be a little more open-minded just as our kids.
Sorry @real Blippi… you’ve lost my kid and I… the new guy is awkward and has no personality. He’s far from the excitement, you Stevin John, bring to kids 🙁
@Mollie, yea new guy is terrible
@Nonameboy,
mean
She noticed straight away and said blippis brother, put other blippi on
My 2 year old does not like him.
I was surprised to see the “new” Blippi as well but he was good and my 4 year old son didn’t even notice. But I googled this ASAP. Yes, he should have a different name then, like Tippi or Flippi, something similar but not Blippi. My son loved the new Halloween show nonetheless:)
I noticed the different, even googled what is going on with Blippi (cause my curiosity) my 4 years old son enjoyed the new blippi video as the old one.
I am fine with two different programs but they should name the new blippi something new for sure…way confusing and they are not the same so why name them the same name.
I took a double take when I saw the 2nd Blippi. Kids are smart, don’t try to fool them. Introduce the 2nd Blippi on a show with the 1st as his twin brother and give him a rhyming name, like Jippi or Trippi. I think they’ll be more accepted and everyone will be happy. Thank you by the way for helping my grand daughter learn so many cool things. I was shocked she knew what an excavator was when we were driving one day.
Blippi over here trying to gaslight us lol
My toddler never noticed it was me who was like wtf is this and what happened to the first guy lol… its probably the parents who care too much. My kids still watch the show
My 5 year old didn’t notice the difference and he loves Blippi.
I feel the parents care more than the kids. My 3 year old say’s they’re both Blippi. I think any 30ish year old guy dressed like that, acting like a 3 year old will be Blippi to a 3 year old
@George, True
It wouldn’t be as much of a big deal if they gave him a different, but similar name. Like you had mentioned. Bloppi works for me. Give him the same outfit but a different color scheme. So the kids can see that no one is trying to fool them. It’s blippis cousin bloppi. Let the kids get used to seeing him, maybe having blippi introduce him on one of the videos and have him appear in a few together, with blippi. I don’t know.. I’m just thinking out loud. Kinda
@Steph Marie, I totally agree we love the real blippi and whilst I think it’s bothered me more than my almost 3 year old I definitely think what you’ve said is the best bet 100%
@Steph Marie, seriously it’s a kid show, most kids don’t even notice the difference it’s your crazy parents that make a big deal
@Samantha,
@Samantha, I suppose it depends on how old your child is (or maybe how observant they are 😊) but my 6 year old noticed instantly. Look, I’m not going to rave on and compare apples to oranges, but there IS a difference, it IS noticeable, NO, it’s not the end of the world and I don’t think anyone is trying to fool anyone but most kids pick up on different characters etc so yes, possibly introducing “new” Blippi as his brother or cousin, with a similar name, wouldn’t be a bad idea. I think the issue most parent is the fact they just substituted him without explanation thinking the kids wouldn’t notice, after all, we’re the ones that have to answer the “why” questions etc. so I don’t think anyone needs to be calling anyone else crazy 😕
@Samantha,
True
This was a bad idea.
Change happens BUT I think you need to call this new guy Blippi Jr or something else. In our house we tell stories with Blippi and Blippi Jr. Grandson insisted on the additional story character to be Blippi Jr.
I dont like the new blippi, my 3 yr old and i knew instantly.
Bring back the one and only Blippi.
No….just no!
Bring back the original Blippi this new one is awful!
My kid can’t tell the difference two white dudes with a dumb outfit and funny voice
@Jon, maybe you should teach you kid not to be such a racist duchebag.
@jon, try 2 dudes in goofy outfits. Glad were still teaching kids to be this way. I say that man over there u say them whites over there smh. All mlk’s hard work wasted on ppl re infecting a generation.
@Jon, Way to keep racism alive.
@Jon,
Agree.
@George
Dont take it to another level. Racism has nothing to do here.
New blipping is like a bad pee wee Herman. It’s horrible
My children are 2 and 3. And they KNOW that’s not the original blippi. It’s just not the same. They don’t want to watch the “fake blippi” as my 3 year old son calls him. It has broken their hearts I’m hoping they will adjust to having two blippi’s but right now they only want john as blippi.
