Who Is This New Blippi, And What Happened To The Old One?
If your kids are addicted to the larger-than-life character that is Blippi, you may have noticed Blippi looks just a little different.
Stevin John, the creator of Blippi, is apparently needing a little help in the world of Blippi, so there is now a second Blippi in town.
This all started when parents were ENRAGED that Stevin wasn’t going to be showing up as his famous character in the live Blippi shows.
People had already bought their tickets and everything, and then they found out Blippi was being swapped for a stage actor that wasn’t Stevin — like kids wouldn’t notice that?!?
I mean sure, Blippi would still be acting over the top, and wearing his trademark orange eyeglasses, hat, bowtie and suspenders, but people thought they were paying for Stevin, and instead they were getting an imposter of sorts.
Steven has embodied the persona that is Blippi since 2014, and even though this stage actor — Clayton Grimm — kinda looks similar to Blippi, it’s just not the same thing.
In a move that is reminiscent of when Blue’s Clues lost Steve, this week saw Grimm show up as Blippi in a new Learn with Blippi show on Saturday morning.

Fans and parents immediately chimed in — as if no one would notice.
It turns out — there are now going to be TWO Blippis.
Blippi, Stevin John, isn’t going anywhere. John will continue to bounce and beep his way through family-friendly attractions in videos to come, with Grimm — helming a set-based format that’s more in line with the Blippi stage show, which will resume touring this summer.

In order to bring out more Blippi content, they are going to split the programming between the TWO Blippis.
I mean, shouldn’t they call him Bloppi or Flippi or something different? Having two different Blippis is not going to fly with kids or parents.

My daughter does NOT like this… Maybe if the secondary got a different name, like the article suggests. there is only ONE blippi.
It’s understandable that he would need help.. he has blown up A LOT!! I honestly like the new one he is still funny and everything, my boys don’t mind the change at all.. as long as they both do the great job and educating the children it doesn’t matter. They should change his name at least, but only they know the reasons they do things.

My 4yo old Granddaughter noticed right away, the 20 mo old grandson did not. Agree this character should be Blippi brother Flippi

My two year old noticed right away and now isn’t interested in watching Blippi. She kept asking “where’s Blippi?” Kids aren’t easily fooled.
My grandchildren did not notice. The new guy is doing a great job. We like him as well as the original. Keep the quality videos and shows coming. That’s really what’s important.
@Carol, i agree with you. He is funny and doing a great job. Blippi blew up a lot and it’s understandable on why he needs help.
I am a Grandmother of a four year old and we’ve been watching him for over two years. I noticed right away, but my Grandson didn’t. I think I was more upset with the change than him LOL
My kids noticed the fake Blippi right away and asked whT was wrong with him. There should only be one Blippi.
Maybe would be better acceptable if he was introduced as Blippi cousin or younger brother with same outfit in different colors and different name
We noticed the new Halloween Blippi guy and my child was excited then stopped watching way DIFFERENT & she’s 3!!!! Lol should have done it as Blippis brother instead maybe it would’ve interested kids a lil more!
Original BLIPPI for sure in my house. I loved why the show was started and that’s the kinda thing I want to support.
My daughter is three years old and as soon as I went to put this blippi Halloween show on Hulu she immediately was like no and wanted nothing to do with it! Her disappointment was all over her face. I believe kids would be more accepting with a different name and character add on not two blippi’s!! Very disappointed parent here!
I think this new guy needs a new name and a new outfit because no kid is going to be fooled .
Lame. My kid noticed right away and these fake blippi’s aren’t nearly as good. Which is funny to say bc when I watched the original blippi I thought it was the most annoying thing I had seen but my 3 y/o loved it abs it kinda grows on you. Fake blippi’a are terrible tho.

My almost 3 yr old wasn’t as captivated as he usually is when he watches Blippi. I wondered why and then I noticed. Impersonating a character that has been around for so long is not easy and takes enormous hours of practice. The new guy does a great job but it feels more like a rendition than a perfect substitution.
If I had a choice, I’d prefer to keep and watch the real old Blippi. At the same time, business Plan speaking, I understand the new Blippi makes sense. Stevin will not stay forever young and needs to think about the future of his show. Maybe with more practice the new “Blippi” will get there…
Personally, I think he should be another character, not the same. My kids, 2 & 4 didn’t notice rt away, but I just feel that would be more ‘honest’ 🤷♀️
I don’t think it’s a bad idea. Why not, it doesn’t bother me so much. Kids watch it anyway. It’s some parents that get upset, Like oh well move on it’s for kids. 🤷

My 7yr old didn’t notice but I did point it out to him. I explained that sometimes characters change because people need help or want to try something new. He jumped right on board saying “It’s ok I like this Blippi too!” This was a great response from a kid who notoriously hates change. Good job guys! Same energy, same lessons, same positivity! Thank you!
Blippi has drove me nuts over the last few months but after seeing his replacement I realized he grew on me . They need to make two characters this is stupid and shows greed

New blippi is actually great too..even he is more handsome than john steve hahaha..but its jus feel something change knwing we are watching somebody else as blippi..thats all..my son still love the show thou
My granddaughter just said, “WE KNOW IT FLOATS FAKE, RIP-OFF BLIPPI!”. She’s 7 and has loved Steven BLIPPI literally all her life. Lol
