Who Is This New Blippi, And What Happened To The Old One?

If your kids are addicted to the larger-than-life character that is Blippi, you may have noticed Blippi looks just a little different.

Stevin John, the creator of Blippi, is apparently needing a little help in the world of Blippi, so there is now a second Blippi in town.

This all started when parents were ENRAGED that Stevin wasn’t going to be showing up as his famous character in the live Blippi shows.

People had already bought their tickets and everything, and then they found out Blippi was being swapped for a stage actor that wasn’t Stevin — like kids wouldn’t notice that?!?

I mean sure, Blippi would still be acting over the top, and wearing his trademark orange eyeglasses, hat, bowtie and suspenders, but people thought they were paying for Stevin, and instead they were getting an imposter of sorts.

Steven has embodied the persona that is Blippi since 2014, and even though this stage actor — Clayton Grimm — kinda looks similar to Blippi, it’s just not the same thing.

In a move that is reminiscent of when Blue’s Clues lost Steve, this week saw Grimm show up as Blippi in a new Learn with Blippi show on Saturday morning.

Due to popular demand we are bringing more Blippi from The Live Show to you all! ? Don’t miss the launch of ‘Learn with Blippi’ tomorrow on Blippi’s YouTube channel. Who’s ready!?

Fans and parents immediately chimed in — as if no one would notice.

It turns out — there are now going to be TWO Blippis.

Blippi, Stevin John, isn’t going anywhere. John will continue to bounce and beep his way through family-friendly attractions in videos to come, with Grimm — helming a set-based format that’s more in line with the Blippi stage show, which will resume touring this summer.

In order to bring out more Blippi content, they are going to split the programming between the TWO Blippis.

Blippi

I mean, shouldn’t they call him Bloppi or Flippi or something different? Having two different Blippis is not going to fly with kids or parents.

What do you think about this new addition to the world of Blippi?

  1. My 3 year old is an avid Blippi fan and did not see the difference in Flippi. Although I knew, you couldn’t tell my son different. Lighten up people.

  2. It’s greedy if you ask me . I’ve been watching blippie with my 5 month old daughter . Gathering a playlist of sorts for as she gets older. I can’t see myself explaining when it’s time that .. we’ll a couple a years ago blippie with a net worth of 8 million needed more money so instead of basic marketing and advertising he decided to clone himself . By the way Santa’s not real.geez

  3. So…. This was a complete shocker! Lol I was so confused!! I’m sitting here watching Blippi with my son and I’m like this is so wired haha don’t like it at all! Gave me Steve from blues clues vibes and I found myself here for answers🤣

  4. Luckily my Blippi obsessed toddler is only 1 and a half, so he fails to notice the difference. But I do and it drives me nuts 😅

  5. We are not impressed at all with the guy. My grandsons want the real Blipping!

  6. I understand a fill in or a helper. But he should have his own name. Like they did on Elmo’a World with Mr Noodle. They had a fill in, Mr Noodle – Mr Noodles brother – Mr Noodle! And that is what they called him. Mouth full but it worked and the kids got a kick out of the tongue twister. Give him his own name and maybe his own color bow tie or suspenders!

  7. Reminds me when I was a kid in the 1960s. There were several clowns named Bozo.

  8. They need to make his name something else and maybe his colors different and just say he is a good friend of blippi.

  9. Blippi, is amazing all my Grandchildren love him! But not this other man…
You could have figured out something else … this doesn’t fit at all… it’s a Hot Mess!

  10. Well, my Granddaughter don’t like him! But she “Loves Blipping”….you shouldn’t start something and not finish or end it properly. She could have introduced a Character in his shows that would take his place when he left. It would’ve been easier for the children but clearly there’s no one else going to be able to take his place. I’ve been watching him since he started with my granddaughter…The new one is not good at all!

  11. My older son (4) noticed the difference – I just told him that he is “a” Blippi and that Blippi was not just one person.

Just got a “That’s ok – he’s funny.” and the topic was buried.

I guess as long as you give them any answer they will be OK with it 🙂

  12. My son just calls him the other blippi. Asked me where he came from. I just told him it’s blippi’s brother 🤷‍♀️ He’s just happy to have his silly fun blippi content ❤️

  13. He needs a break especially with him about to be a dad. He needs to take time for his family my 4 yo didn’t notice the difference all she knows it’s blippi and she loves all the videos. He didnt have to make them and that is what I feel people are not understanding He took his own time to do these videos and because he needed to take a break He is being bashed at least they brought someone else to help with them. Would you rather the videos just stop all together? He could of just stopped then there would be no blippi but he choose someone else to help him continue with the shows. I have 3 kids and 2 of them love blippi and don’t really see why everyone is upset if the videos are still being made

    1. @Kristin,
Same with my 3&1/2 yr old grandson.

  14. i want reAL BLIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPY THE ONE IN SAUDI ARABIA IS NOT THE SAME

  15. Apparently ppl are missing the bigger picture here. Something is obviously going on with Steve. And he needs a break. He is human. He needs a break from blippi. This is just like hanna Montana all over again. Ppl forget the person playing the role is still a person. They need to step away sometimes. If ur child can’t handle this then explain to them that this is a new character bc blippi is on a vacation to stay mentally healthy. If ppl keep pushing like this we will have another tragic death of a celebrity being pushed to far.

    1. @Chelsy, Ok, by your estimation, if, say Elton John wanted to split his performances over a wider audience, the Rocket Man should just find a doppelganger to play those shows.

      SMH

Tribute shows are one thing, this is entirely something different.

In the very least, if it hasn’t been done already, there should be an episode, quite similar to the Lucille Ball Harpo Marx skit where the real Blippi calls him out and then introduces the other a the slightly younger twin. Proceed to ask his “twin” to go change into his favorite digs and as the other comes back out, who would still apparently look similar, would have his own color scheme and be then fully introduced by his own name. This I believe would satisfy the many questions and give an even bigger and better expansion of the Blippi mission and product.

  16. So my son’s they are 4 and 2- wanted to watch the Blippi Halloween special on prime video. I set it up and start it just to have them both start screaming “THIS ISNT BLIPPI!! PUT BLIPPI ON! WHO IS THIS GUY HES NOT BLIPPI!” They were not having it. They wouldn’t even give the new guy a chance.
But really? Do they honestly think little kids who have been watching Blippi since they were babies weren’t going to notice you swapped out Blippi (Steven John) with some imposter(new guy)??? Really they noticed right away!

  17. I read most of the comments and I couldnt help but draw the parallel between the kids who dont like the new Blippi and the ones who could care less. Seems that most who dont like the new Blippi were girls and the ones that could care less (or didnt notice) were boys. Just an observation but interesting nonetheless. I’ll leave it open for everyone to comment on why this may be.

  18. Blippi done jumped the shark !!!

  19. I turned on the TV with my two grandsons to watch Blippi Halloween and I sat there looking and said that’s not Blippi and at first my grandsons thought it was and then they looked and they said yeah that’s not Blippi bring back the old Blimpie we like him, keep the other guy on the road

  20. My kids couldn’t care less. They see the new guy doing a great job and being silly and teaching in ways they understand. Blippi is a character, not just the person behind the character. When you go to Disneyland do you expect to see the actual characters or are you ok with people in costumes playing the characters?

    1. @K Chonch, EXACTLY! The kids don’t care as long as he brings the same energy. I love the “new” or number 2 blippi. He’s great! My son doesn’t care a tiny bit as long as it’s still the same fun show

  21. I like him, at first i was like wtf? who is this? but hes just as crazy as blippi.

  22. We watch Blippi dubbed in Deutsch (and now my 2 year old is teaching US words he learns on the show). The voice actors change every so often, so I think he doesn’t really care because the current voice with “new Blippi” is the same voice actor as the last year with “the real Blippi”.
Either way, Blippi is the best program for kids we have seen, and I am all for him relaxing and having someone else take over.
I do understand though, they replaced Chrissy on Three’s Company when I was a kid, and I wasn’t having it at all!

  23. Can you blame Stevin for wanting to cash in on the Blippi train? He’s done a great job of building the brand. Stevin deserves a house in Hidden Hills and a private jet.

  24. I think it’s weird and there should only be one for kids they love Steve. But I don’t blame him for all trying to keep kids happy with having more shows while trying to have his life too he’s about to be a dad himself is exciting congrats Steve..

  25. When I pointed out that it wasn’t blippi my 4 year old thought I was being cute. Even got a little mad. I know he can tell the difference but to him, when you dress up as someone, that’s who you are. Just like when he wears his blippi costume he IS blippi. If he doesn’t care neither do i. A character is a character.
