The scarf neckline on Old Navy’s new Altuzarra dress is doing a lot of the work here. It drapes across the front, wraps around the neck and falls down the back of a black floral dress. Add boots and there’s already a whole outfit.
It’s part of Old Navy’s new collection with designer Joseph Altuzarra, which launched September 30. The collection takes its cues from Romantic and Gothic fiction, with floral dresses, Fair Isle knits and coats that make sense for fall. There are coordinating pieces for girls and toddlers, too.
The announced range runs from $24.99 to $139.99. That starting price is for pieces like a scarf; the dress pictured here is $76.99. Here’s a closer look at a few pieces, including a detail to check before counting on an Old Navy discount.
The scarf dress
The Scarf Maxi Dress in Black Floral has adjustable spaghetti straps and an above-ankle length. The long draped neckline is the part that makes it feel dressed up, even with fairly simple shoes and earrings.
Old Navy lists it at $76.99 in sizes 0–24. The fabric is polyester, including 30% recycled polyester,.
The rest of the collection
The full collection also includes Fair Isle sweaters, cardigans, outerwear and coordinating pieces for girls and toddlers. For a smaller purchase, the separate Satin Scarf is $24.99. It’s a roughly 30-inch square in 100% polyester.
