Philadelphia just put Mike’s Hot Honey into whipped cream cheese, and this is one of those combinations that makes so much sense I am surprised it took this long.
The new Philadelphia Mike’s Hot Honey Whipped Cream Cheese is the brand’s first sweet-heat cream cheese flavor in the U.S. It combines Philadelphia’s whipped spread with Mike’s Hot Honey.
Where to find Philadelphia Mike’s Hot Honey Cream Cheese
The new flavor is launching exclusively at Walmart in September 2026. Philadelphia says it will expand to additional retailers in January 2027.
Availability can vary from store to store, so I would check Walmart’s refrigerated dairy section before making a special trip. This is a tub, not one of Philadelphia’s foil-wrapped cream cheese bricks.
What does Mike’s Hot Honey cream cheese taste like?
Philadelphia describes it as sweet heat folded into its smooth, whipped cream cheese.
I have a very well-documented weakness for Philadelphia’s jalapeño cream cheese, so a hot-honey version is absolutely speaking my language. I have not tasted this new one yet, though, so I am not going to pretend I can tell you exactly how spicy it is.
The obvious move is a bagel, but this also feels built for breakfast sandwiches, pizza and snack boards. Sweet heat with cream cheese is not a weird leap. It is basically the point where a spicy bagel spread and a drizzle of hot honey finally stop pretending they are two separate ideas.
Philadelphia also launched two more fall flavors
Mike’s Hot Honey is not the only new tub in the fall lineup. Philadelphia is also rolling out a limited-time Cranberry Orange spread and a permanent Salted Caramel flavor at major retailers nationwide.
Cranberry Orange is the holiday-table one. Salted Caramel is the dessert one. But the Mike’s Hot Honey tub is the one I would look for first because it can do breakfast, snacks and pizza without turning everything into frosting.
If regular cream cheese is not an option for you, Philadelphia also recently launched a lactose-free cream cheese brick that works as a one-for-one swap in recipes.
The hot-honey spread is here for Walmart’s September shelves first, then it gets a wider rollout in January. That gives everyone else a few months to accept that cream cheese needed a little heat.
