Playa Bowls put chocolate next to its pink strawberry base, added fruit and coco whip, and suddenly the bowl looks a lot like a chocolate-covered strawberry got a much bigger serving dish.

The Chocolate Covered Strawberry Bowl is part of the chain’s new Cacao Chocolate Waves menu, which launched November 3 at shops nationwide. There are two bowls and two smoothies, all built around the new cacao base.

The pink bowl is back in the mix

For the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Bowl, half is cacao and half is Stupid Cupid, Playa’s pink strawberry, banana and organic coconut milk blend. Blueberry flax granola, strawberries, banana and coco whip go on top.

It’s the fruit-forward pick in this little chocolate lineup. The name does not mean someone dipped the strawberries in a chocolate shell; the chocolate comes from the base underneath.

Coconut, walnuts and a Nutella drizzle

The other new bowl, Chocolate Coconut Joy, pairs the cacao base with Playa Coconut base. Its toppings are blueberry flax granola, banana, walnuts and Nutella.

So the bowl decision is pretty straightforward: strawberry and coco whip on one side, coconut and chocolate-hazelnut drizzle on the other. Both are listed on Playa’s current bowl menu.

There are two chocolate smoothies, too

Triple Dark Wave combines cacao and coconut bases with banana, chocolate protein, Nutella and organic coconut milk. There’s an extra Nutella swirl in the cup.

PB Chocolate Wave takes the peanut-butter route: cacao base, banana, chocolate protein, peanut butter and organic coconut milk, finished with peanut butter and coco whip swirls. You can compare both on the smoothie menu.

What the “zero added sugar” claim covers

Playa says its new cacao base is sweetened with dates and contains zero added sugar. That claim is about the base. The bowls and smoothies also have their own toppings and mix-ins, including Nutella in two of the orders, so don’t read it as a zero-added-sugar promise for everything in the cup.

Playa lists the seasonal menu for November 3, 2026, through January 5, 2027, while supplies last. The launch announcement does not give a nationwide price, so check your shop’s menu for pricing and availability before ordering.
