Pokémon Pokopia is getting a Halloween decorating event, complete with pumpkin candy and two very appropriate new neighbors: Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist.
What is Pokémon Pokopia?
If the name is new to you, Nintendo describes Pokopia as a cozy world-building game. You play a Ditto disguised as a human, make friends with Pokémon, learn their moves and rebuild a town. Crafting furniture, growing crops and making comfortable little habitats are part of the appeal.
Pokopia is a Nintendo Switch 2 game. Check the system you have before buying it for this event.
When does the Halloween event start?
According to Pokémon’s official announcement, Pumpkaboo’s Sweet Surprises runs October 17, 2026, at 5 a.m. through November 1 at 4:59 a.m., local time. That end time is early in the morning, so don’t save your candy collecting for November 1.
Two things to prepare before Pumpkaboo arrives
Have a rebuilt Pokémon Center, and learn Camouflage from Zorua at Bleak Beach. Pumpkaboo will appear near rebuilt Centers; Camouflage lets you disguise yourself as objects and surprise other Pokémon for pumpkin candy.
Take that candy to the Pokémon Center to trade for seasonal furniture and decorations. Those items can help you build a habitat for Gourgeist.
The announcement hasn’t supplied a complete shopping list or candy prices yet. It does confirm one especially nice detail: Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist can stay in town after the event ends.
