I know I can not be the only one that is sitting at home sad. I’m depressed and isn’t just about one thing, it’s the load of everything. Everything is pressing down. I need a little bit of happiness.

Sometimes to make myself feel better, I do things for others. It makes me happy knowing someone else is happy. Sometimes I give away a photoshoot. Sometimes I buy someone a coffee. Things like that. Some are big, some are small.

Right now, things are different. A lot of people don’t want to or can not leave their homes. So what are some things you can do as a random act of kindness? Things that respect those current social boundaries some people have in place…

Tell people you appreciate them. I have been doing this online. When someone shows me support without judgment, I message them and tell them how much I appreciate them.

Even if they just clicked like on my post. I tell them that it meant something to me. In fact, I did that today. A woman liked a comment I made, I messaged her and told her I appreciated it. Then we had a great conversation.

Tell people you are thankful for them. This is important. So many people are stuck at home alone. There is no one there and that loneliness sucks! Let people know that you are thankful they exist and let them know they are in your thoughts.

Paint rocks, you can even involve your kids and write inspirational messages on them. Take a family walk and hide the rocks along the way to be found by others.

Ask your friends to post a link to their Amazon Wishlists and encourage them all to secretly gift each other. Set a price range limit to keep it easy and affordable to most. Getting a surprise in the mail is so much fun!

Ask if anyone wants a penpal! I love to write letters! I usually include fun little surprises in my letters. Like inspirational cards, stickers, tea bags, etc.

Ask a neighbor if they need help with anything. It could be picking something up from the store, or helping with yard work. Even just asking is a mood booster!

There are so many things you can do to make someone smile! Post a funny meme or gif on their Facebook page. Share a TikTok that makes you laugh. Encourage some happiness.

Things are ugly right now, but we can choose to make it a little brighter! Simple little things y’all! Just be nice.
