Boxed baking mix usually asks you to choose between convenient and genuinely good. Rising Star Baking Supply is trying to remove that choice with four organic mixes made with real Madagascar vanilla.
The new lineup arrives exclusively at Whole Foods Market in September 2026. Each box is priced at $7.99, and the flavors cover the important dessert categories: brownies, chocolate cake, snickerdoodles and cinnamon oatmeal cookies.
There are four Rising Star baking mixes
- Double Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix: Dutch cocoa, semisweet chocolate chunks and Madagascar vanilla.
- Dutch Chocolate Cake Mix: Dutch cocoa and Madagascar vanilla in a classic chocolate cake.
- Snickerdoodle Cookie & Bar Mix: Saigon cinnamon and Madagascar vanilla.
- Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookie Mix: whole-grain oats, Saigon cinnamon and Madagascar vanilla.
All four mixes are certified organic, non-GMO and made without artificial colors or flavors. The brand says they are manufactured in the United States.
The real vanilla is the whole point
Rising Star says these are the first organic baking mixes made with real Madagascar vanilla rather than natural or artificial vanilla flavor. The brownie mix also gets actual chocolate chunks, while the cake uses Dutch cocoa and the cookie mixes use Saigon cinnamon.
That does not automatically tell us how the finished desserts taste. Totally The Bomb has not baked them yet, so this is launch coverage—not a taste test dressed up as one. But the ingredient list is more interesting than the usual “just add oil and optimism” situation.
Where can you buy Rising Star baking mixes?
The four mixes are rolling out nationally at Whole Foods Market stores beginning in September 2026. They are $7.99 each, according to the official launch announcement.
Store inventory can vary, so check your local Whole Foods before making a dedicated brownie run. Rising Star also sells baking ingredients through its official website, but this four-mix launch is a Whole Foods exclusive.
If the brownies are as fudgy as the box photo is threatening, we will report back after an actual bake.
