So word is spreading that the new Apple Crisp Macchiato that is releasing at Starbucks is going to replace the Salted Caramel Mocha…and people are upset. (Understandably!)

Starbucks

HOWEVER, as a retired Starbucks barista myself, I’m here to help. And you can STILL get your favorite fall drink!

Starbucks

Believe it or not, the Salted Caramel Mocha is actually available year round! All of the syrups that are required for it are in stores as long as there isn’t a current shortage!

The only item NOT available is the sea salt topping. Which is AMAZING, but you can still get the same taste of drink despite it.

Walmart

If you are determined to have your sea salt topping this year, many grocery stores have bottles of different kinds that you could purchase and sprinkle on yourself after the drink is ready!

How To Order The Salted Caramel Mocha

Start by ordering a Mocha. (Hot, Iced, or Frappuccino.)

Then, ask for them to add Toffee Nut Syrup. It will automatically adjust to whatever size and type of drink you order in their system.

Then ask for caramel drizzle.

The toffee nut flavor will automatically give the salty taste to the drink, but if you are really into the sea salt topping, you can either purchase your own, or ask for a salt packet to be sprinkled on top of your whipped cream!

We hope this helps! Everyone has been pretty bummed about the news, but never fear. We found a solution for the S’mores Frappuccino, and we found one for this!

  1. I love the scmf and I order it year round, but it is more expensive to customize to make it when out of season. The apple drink they are trying to replace it with doesn’t even sound appealing. You better rethink it next years

  2. It’s more expensive to order it this way. And their drinks are already way too expensive. But, I do love my SCMF!

  3. Toffee nut syrup has been temporarily discontinued due to their nationwide shortages. That’s why the SCM isn’t coming back.

    1. @Sbux, I guess I don’t understand the nationwide shortages thing that SB has been touting lately. Is is supply shortage, transportation issues or what?

    2. Right! No supply issues for that nasty pumpkin spice! Starbucks please keep the SCM on the menu, and better yet, keep the salt topping available year round. Also an aside, if ordering a SCM the chocolate/toffee nut ratio is approx 2:1.
