Cocktail Hour, Texas Style – Jalapeno Margarita
I love margaritas. They’re the quintessential Texas cocktail and something I would have at every meal if it were even the slightest bit not-frowned-upon. So with that in mind, I set out to come up with the tastiest (and most Texas) drink I could…So allow me to introduce you to Cocktail Hour, Texas Style – The Jalapeno Margarita.
What You’ll Need to Make a Jalapeno Margarita:
- 1 jalapeno pepper, sliced
- 4 oz. silver tequila
- 2 oz. triple sec
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 1 Tbsp. agave nectar
- Pineapple chunks, for garnish
- Kosher salt or sea salt, for garnish
How to Make a Jalapeno Margarita:
Because preparation is important, you’re going to want to start this out by getting the salt rim on your glasses ready to go. Use a little bit of that lime juice to wet the rim, then dip it in your preferred type of salt, coating evenly. And I won’t even judge you for skipping this step after you’ve had a few of these awesome drinks. Then, put half of your jalapeno slices in a cocktail shaker and muddle with a few splashes of lime juice. Add the rest of the lime juice plus your tequila, triple sec, and agave nectar, throw in some ice, and shake it like an Outkast lyric from 2003. Toss a couple of ice cubes into each of your prepared glasses and then strain your deliciously spicy margaritas into them. Garnish with the rest of your jalapeno slices and the pineapple chunks, and enjoy your Texas Style Margarita!
I definitely need to try one of these margaritas! Thanks so much for sharing with us at Merry Monday.
Found this site on a link party, glad I did. Love jalapeno, and margaritas even more. Pinning to my drinks board to make this summer at the cabin.
Looks delicious and I like the addition of the jalapeño.
This is so original! Sounds like something even my Mexican friends would love. Gotta try this at the next party I host.
Coming over from the Inspire Me Monday linky 🙂
