Starbucks Dropped New Lavender Oatmilk Drinks So Spring Can Officially Begin
I love it when Starbucks releases new seasonal drinks! The new spring-colored logo they released was a hint at what was to come.
I’ve had Lavender coffees from small local coffee shops and absolutely loved them, so I was excited to try out what Starbucks had to offer.
Lavender is the perfect flavor to transition us from the winter season into spring. Its soft sweetness, light floral notes and beautiful color ignite feelings of rejuvenation and awakening associated with the change of seasons.

The new menu items are the Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha and Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte. I pretty much only ever drink oatmilk drinks when I order from Starbucks.
I’m not really a Matcha fan, so I haven’t tried the Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha.
The drink starts with Starbucks matcha combined with oatmilk, then it’s topped with lavender cream cold foam and served over ice.
I did try the Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte the other day.
We aimed to create a really balanced, delicious beverage. The oatmilk and the Starbucks Blonde Espresso make a lovely pairing, providing a smooth, well-rounded profile that is complemented by the floral and vanilla flavors of lavender.

The Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte starts with Starbucks Blonde Espresso and oatmilk, with what they say is “sweet and subtle floral notes of lavender”. You can order this as an iced or hot drink.
I ordered it as an iced latte and I can tell you right now there was nothing “subtle” about those “floral notes of lavender”.
In my personal opinion it was way over the top and pretty perfumey tasting. Again… I LIKE lavender coffees, but this one was not for me.
The lavender lattes I have had from our small local coffee shops are smooth and amazing, they have a calming effect on my mood.
This Starbucks lavender latte had me feeling like I drank a glass of Fabulosa… you think I’m kidding but I’m not.
Maybe they were heavy handed when they made mine… I’m not sure. I could give it another try and see.
If you’ve tried them, please let me know in the comments what you thought. Should I spend the money and try it again?
