There Is A Sugar Recall. Here’s What You Need To Know.
That list of recalls just keeps getting longer and longer.
Peanut butter, peanut butter candies, strawberries, peaches, and now add sugar to the list of the newest recalls.
They were already predicting a sugar shortage, now add in a recall, and YIKES!
This recall is for Rogers brand Golden Yellow Sugar and it’s been recalled by Lantic Inc.
There are not a lot of details about the recall at this time, but the sugar has been recalled due to a possible health hazard.
It seems there may be pieces of plastic in the bags of sugar.
The recall was issued on Friday, May 27th, 2022 by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
The sugar affected by the recall is Rogers brand Golden Yellow Sugar in the 2 kg size and the recalled packages of sugar will have the following codes: 0 63111 12144 6 and 1022031.
This recalled sugar has been distributed in Alberta and British Columbia Canadian providences and thankfully was not distributed here in the United States.
So far the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has not reported if there have been any injuries or illnesses due to the plastic contaminated bags of sugar.
I think this goes without needing to be said, but if you have the possible contaminated sugar, throw it out!
