I saw a fluffy jacket lighting up blue, green, and yellow on my Facebook feed, and now I have a very specific problem: I really, really want it.
It’s from SugarFur, and the brand’s Frost LED Coat takes a white faux fur jacket and turns it into something I would absolutely plan an entire outfit around.
Apparently my next fashion goal is to become a walking glow stick. With a hood.
The lights are built into the coat
According to SugarFur, more than 80 feet of lights are woven throughout the Frost. The included remote has 36 modes, including sound-reactive settings. You can also change the lights with a built-in button or the free SugarFur Light DJ app.
That is the appeal for me: a fluffy white jacket by day, then a completely different look when you turn the lights on. I’m picturing concerts, a birthday outfit, or New Year’s Eve when “a little sparkle” simply will not do.
Here’s what to know before ordering
The Frost is listed at $299, with sizes XS through 3XL shown on the product page. SugarFur says it runs slightly small and recommends sizing up if you’re between sizes or want a relaxed fit.
The power bank is sold separately. The coat uses a standard 5V USB power bank in a hidden pocket. SugarFur lists a $25 add-on, so the listed coat-plus-bank total is $324 before any applicable tax or shipping.
It’s also not waterproof. The Frost description specifies spot cleaning, so this is a jacket to care for carefully.
The battery and sizing details are the things I’d check first. After that? I am back to imagining myself glowing blue in this enormous fluffy hood.
