A pink gingerbread house tea party sounds like the kind of Christmas plan that starts with one cute idea and ends with me shopping for tiny candy decorations in September.
The Gingerbread Party: Recipes and Traditions for Christmas Entertaining is a holiday entertaining book by Courtney Dial Whitmore with Phronsie Horton Dial, photographed by Cameron Wilder. And yes, one of its party ideas uses graham crackers for the houses.
The pink house party is the idea that caught my attention
According to publisher Gibbs Smith, the book includes a children’s Pink Gingerbread House Tea Party built around graham-cracker houses. It also covers an adult gingerbread-house decorating party and a gingerbread train party.
Those are three very different ways to use the same holiday theme. The tea party is the one I would start with if I wanted the decorating to be the main event. The train idea gives you another shape to play with if the standard little house has started to feel familiar.
It goes beyond building the houses
The publisher’s preview lists more than 30 Christmas recipes and six decorating tutorials, along with templates, crafts, gifts and hosting ideas.
The recipe lineup includes gingerbread cupcakes with vanilla buttercream, gingerbread hot cocoa, a gingerbread cheesecake trifle and spiced gingerbread pecans. There are savory ideas, too, including rosemary and Parmesan shortbread with whipped goat cheese.
That is the part that makes this interesting as a party-planning book: you can think about what people will eat and drink while they decorate, instead of treating the gingerbread project as the entire menu.
There are practical sections to check before you start
The supplied contents page includes tools and materials, baking tips, a section on humid climates and a troubleshooting guide for common gingerbread problems. There are also sections on building and decorating before the individual party chapters.

Gibbs Smith lists an August 4, 2026 publication date. The publisher’s U.S. list price is $24.99 for the 144-page hardcover; retailer prices can differ.
If a gingerbread gathering is on your Christmas list, this is the sort of book I’d look through before buying supplies. Choose the party idea first, then figure out the space, guests and decorating time you actually want to commit to. The pink houses are certainly making a strong case.
