Toll House put The Polar Express on cookie dough and a bag of hot cocoa and marshmallow morsels. The hot chocolate part of movie night has apparently expanded into the baking aisle.
And honestly, this makes sense. If a movie can turn a cup of cocoa into an entire production, it can certainly justify a tray of cookies.
The limited-edition collaboration has two separate products: refrigerated cookie dough with festive sprinkles, and loose baking morsels you can add to your own treats. Here’s which package does what before you grab the wrong one.
The cookie dough is the shortcut
The 14-ounce Polar Express Cookie Dough combines hot cocoa and marshmallow-flavored morsels with holiday sprinkles. The package makes 20 cookies, and Toll House lists a $4.99 suggested retail price.
This is the refrigerated dough, so look for it with the other chilled cookie doughs. Follow the package’s storage and baking instructions. A train on the wrapper does not give raw dough special privileges.
The sprinkles are doing some work here. You get the cocoa-and-marshmallow idea plus the little red and green holiday moment without pulling out six containers of decorations.
The morsels are for the person who already has a plan
The separate 9-ounce bag of Polar Express Morsels has a $5.79 suggested retail price. Toll House’s official product page identifies them as hot cocoa and marshmallow artificially flavored baking chips.
Toll House suggests mixing them into cookies or brownies, or using them to top treats. So if you already have a favorite brownie recipe, this is the bag for adding the movie-night theme without replacing the whole recipe.
Despite all that cocoa talk, this is a bag of baking morsels, not hot chocolate mix. The mug still needs its own supplies.
Where to look, and what the prices actually mean
In its October 21 announcement shared with Totally The Bomb, Toll House says both products are available now at retailers nationwide for a limited time. That is the brand’s availability announcement; it does not confirm stock at your particular store.
Prices can vary by retailer, too. Use those suggested prices as a reference, and check your store before making a special trip.
Cookie dough for the low-effort movie night. Morsels for the baking project. Either way, the conductor is going to have to wait until the oven timer goes off.
