Trader Joe’s has a fall bottle coming that takes the cinnamon-and-brown-sugar idea in a lemony direction: a ready-made Hot Toddy made with lemon wine.
According to Renegade Lemonade’s announcement, the collaboration arrives October 5 at Trader Joe’s stores that sell wine, while supplies last. The bottle carries the Trader Joe’s label and combines wine made from lemons with cinnamon and brown sugar.
That last part is worth noticing before you put it on a shopping list. This is an alcoholic wine cocktail, with 12% ABV, so look in the wine section rather than among the cider and other seasonal soft drinks.
The bottle has its own shortcut built in
The brand’s product photo shows a brown label with a lemon slice and cinnamon sticks, plus the serving suggestion to enjoy it hot or cold. The premixed bottle already has the cinnamon and brown sugar; you do not need to mistake it for the plain Renegade Lemonade bottle pictured beside it.
The idea came from Brady and Alex Reiter, the founders of Georgia-based Renegade Lemonade. They developed a warm lemon-wine drink in 2022, and that recipe is the inspiration for this Trader Joe’s release.
Their original cinnamon-brown sugar recipe is still on the brand’s site for anyone interested in the from-scratch version. It starts with the original Renegade Lemonade wine, which is a separate product.
Check your store before making a special trip
The announcement does not list a retail price or a final sale date. October 5 is the announced launch, and participating stores must sell wine. Those details matter more than a nationwide headline if your usual Trader Joe’s does not have a wine department.
