Voodoo Doughnut has given a sweet fritter the takeout treatment, right down to two pretzel “chopsticks.” It’s part of the chain’s Doughnuts After Dark menu, and the clock matters: these treats are available Thursday through Saturday, from 7 p.m. until closing.

The fritter comes with edible chopsticks

The Chinese Takeout Fritter has pineapple and orange, sweet-and-savory frosting with a little heat, and toasted sesame seeds. The pretzel chopsticks finish the takeout look. It’s still a sweet fritter, with a very committed presentation.

Baja Blasted is a ring doughnut with tropical-lime frosting and pink and purple Voonilla drizzle. Mother Nutter takes the peanut butter route: fluff inside, chocolate frosting, cake crumbles, peanut butter and chocolate drizzle, then more fluff and candy-coated peanut butter pieces.

Check your location before making the trip

The menu is available in stores and online while supplies last. Universal CityWalk and airport locations are excluded.

Voodoo says online customers can order ahead or order after 7 p.m. Check your selected shop’s ordering menu for its closing time, pricing and availability before heading over.

The pretzel chopsticks are a strong argument for a doughnut detour. Just make it on the right night.
