Tim Burton is the man like I’m not kidding, he is one of my favorites of all time. Everything he does is absolutely magic! Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, and Beetlejuice are some of my favorites.
The Nightmare Before Christmas is no exception! This movie has a huge fan base that is near (if not totally) obsessed.
The songs written for the movie were written by Danny Elfman and are super popular with fans of the movie. “Jack’s Lament” is one of the most iconic songs from the movie. It is all about how Jack Skellington feels about being trapped in an endless loop of Halloween.
I have often wondered why there wasn’t a live musical done for The Nightmare Before Christmas. It would be amazing and fans everywhere would love to see something like that.
Well, a YouTuber named Matthew Patrick Davis has done his own thing to bring the movie to life. It’s super cool and he did amazing! The video was shot in a black box theater and he took on the role of Jack Skellington himself.
Watch the Pumpkin King come to life in the Matthew Patrick Davis performance of The Nightmare Before Christmas in the video below.
It will leave you wanting more and also wondering as I do, why isn’t there a live musical for this yet? Let me know your thoughts in the comments! We need more of this right?
