Well, looks like I may just stick to Michael’s as my ultimate craft store!

In case you didn’t know, a few weeks ago I told you that Hobby Lobby Is Getting Rid of Their 40% off Coupon and I’m Not Happy About It!

Well, time is ticking because as of the last of the month, February 28, 2021 they will no longer be offering their 40% off coupon!

Look, I love Hobby Lobby but only because they have always had unique things I couldn’t find anywhere else oh and because they let me use a 40% off coupon.

Here’s the thing – I am a huge couponer and money saver. In fact, that’s where I started my career 10 years ago – a coupon blog.

So, when I find out a store is no longer accepting coupons, it sort of makes me salty because who doesn’t want to save money on cute stuff? NOBODY!

Yes, Hobby Lobby has amazing and unique things but unless it’s on sale or could have a coupon used on it – it’s expensive.

There is a thread going around on Reddit right now that has Hobby Lobby employees commenting on it.

Apparently, employees were given a memo about it a few weeks ago.

So, when will the coupons stop?

According to a reply directly from the Hobby Lobby Facebook Page (this is an actual screenshot I took), it will be February 28, 2020.

According to employees, they were that if a customer asks why they no longer offer a coupon, they are to respond:

“We are giving you so many great deals on thousands of items throughout the entire store.”

Yikes!

Also, in case you need more convincing, I did email Hobby Lobby myself and got this response:

While I am not happy they are getting rid of the coupon, I truly hope they reevaluate as customers express their concerns.

I also hope they entirely adjust their pricing because I can’t imagine having to pay 40% more for something especially right now.

Guess all the more reason to save some money and not shop at all! Ha 😉

I’ve honestly been waiting for this day – the day we’d find out if there will be a COVID-19 vaccine for our kids.

From the beginning I never understood why there would be a vaccine made for adults but not children.

I mean, they get the flu shot so why not made a COVID-19 vaccine for them too?

It also never made sense that while my husband and I intend to get the vaccine, our children would still be vulnerable and I couldn’t in good faith send them back to school like that.

But now we are finally getting some answers and information on a COVID-19 vaccine that may be soon available for kids. Here’s what parents need to know.

For starters, I found out it is completely normal that when a new vaccine is made, they make it for adults first then for children.

Secondly, infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and he is hopeful that coronavirus vaccination may be available to kids as young as first graders in the next few months.

This of course would depend on the testing currently being conducted.

In an interview, Dr. Fauci said children as young as first graders may be able to get the coronavirus vaccine by the time school starts back up in September.

“We’re in the process of starting clinical trials in what we call age de-escalation, where you do a clinical trial with people 16 to 12, then 12 to 9, then 9 to 6,”

“I would think by the time we get to school opening, we likely will be able to get people who come into the first grade.”

Some pediatricians are wanting the trials to move more quickly to ensure that children are vaccinated helping stop the further spread of the virus.

So, is a COVID-19 vaccine safe for children? Well, we don’t have the final results but we do know it is currently being studied.

According to ProPublica, Pfizer is the only manufacturer whose pediatric vaccine trials are far enough along to potentially have data on elementary-school age children by the end of the summer.

Pfizer has finished enrolling participants in its study of 12- to 15-year-olds and anticipates having data in “the early part of 2021,” according to a spokeswoman.

Moderna is currently seeking participants for their first study of 12 to 15 year olds and Johnson and Johnson hasn’t even started those trials yet.

So, as of right now, it is still a waiting game.

However, as always, speak with your child’s Pediatrician to discuss options and see if they feel the vaccine is safe. They are the best person to know your child’s medical history and relevant information regarding the COVID-19 vaccine.

Ya know, after the whole tide pod fiasco, I really thought people would read labels and never do stupidly dangerous stuff again.

But then there comes the woman that put Gorilla Glue in her hair and I was shocked.

And even after her story and multiple updates about the pain and problems she went through, I am shocked to learn that people have NOT learned their lesson.

In fact, one guy used Gorilla Glue to glue a cup to his mouth.

Another used Gorilla Glue in their hair…

So, here we are – There’s Now A ‘Gorilla Glue Challenge’ and I Just Can’t Deal. Like, I am literally speechless.

The Gorilla Glue Challenge is the latest social media “challenge” that has gained traction on TikTok.

If you search the hashtag “Gorilla Glue Challenge” on the app, it has gained 8.2 million views in total, users have been using the hashtag for a variety of reasons.

The “challenge” involves people either using Gorilla Glue as a cosmetic product in different ways, or using the hashtag to raise awareness of the dangers that come with using the adhesive on your body to deter people from doing it.

FYI, Gorilla Glue has a 19-page document on how dangerous it is.

Some people are even using it to permanently apply false eyelashes.

You guys! This should be NOWHERE near your eyes and could cause you to go blind! OMG!

I really cannot believe we are here where people have nothing better to do than do a stupid challenge using dangerous adhesive.

Seriously, people please stop being this stupid.

It’s not cute or funny and it’s not a way you can make a quick buck. Stop doing it! Ugh!

Dear Gen Z, I don’t care what you think is uncool.

Many of the things you do make no freaking sense at all and you don’t see me trying to make you feel bad for it.

But here we are – Gen Z – the generation that thinks they can come onto our turf and tell us what we can and cannot do.

First they told us that skinny jeans were out then they said side-parts were so out of style.

And now they are trying to take our ? emoji away from us? Uh, yeah I think not.

Gen Z is going after people on social media (mostly TikTok) for using the ? emoji.

“What’s wrong with the laughing emoji[?],” one user asked in a TikTok comment. Another responded: “it’s so off.”

On a different video of a woman saying she’s cut back on using it after learning kids don’t, one teen commented: “As a 15 year old I say you should use that emoji bc [because] we sure aren’t going to.”

So, how can we be “cool” among Gen Z?

Apparently Gen Z-ers use the ? emoji and it has become a popular replacement for conveying laughter.

It’s the visual version of the slang phrase “I’m dead” or “I’m dying,” which signifies something is very funny.

Other acceptable alternatives: the ? emoji (officially called “Loudly Crying Face”), or just writing “lol” (laughing out loud) or “lmao” (laughing my, well, you probably know the rest).

Let me just say something here – lol and lmao is something us millennials invented. Yeah, I used those in the 7th grade so take that Gen Z!

Oh and the “Face with Tears of Joy,” the official name for the laughing crying emoji, is currently the most-used emoji on Emojitracker which is a website that shows real-time emoji use on Twitter.

It topped Emojipedia’s list of the most-used emojis on Twitter in 2020, while the “Loudly Crying Face” took the number two spot. 

Bottom line is – you don’t get to tell me what is cool or not cool. I invented cool and I will use the ? Emoji any dang time I want, mmkay?

In fact, just because you said I shouldn’t, I am going to use it even more! Ha!
