Ben Stiller and Sean Penn are permanently banned from Russia.

According to AP News, Russia’s Foreign Ministry has imposed personal sanctions to bar 25 more Americans alongside Ben and Sean who have been recently added to the list of individuals who cannot enter Russia.

As of recently, there are currently 1,073 names in total on Russia’s “stop list.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has released an official statement.

Ben Stiller was added to Russia’s list due to his role as a goodwill ambassador of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

He’s also personally met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy back in June, alongside speaking with other Ukrainians whose lives have been devastated from the ongoing war.

As for Penn, Sean met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy while filming a day before Russia invaded Ukraine.

And even though he was advised to leave the country to seek safety immediately, Sean stayed to stick to his commitment of advocating for those who may not be heard.
